It's almost as if something is meant to be here. But then again, you probably don't believe in higher powers working the world and everyone's lives. Not that it matters, we're here now, and while I am here, perhaps you'd join me on a date to get lunch?" He wonders if she'll say no. The smirk on his face fully implies he's asking her out in the romantic sense rather than a friend sense. Mostly to bother her, but half because he does have an interest in her. He knows he bothers he quite a bit, so it's a wonder whether she'll say yes to the free food with the romantic date implication, or if she'll say no seeing the implication as dis-favorable. It would be even better if she struggled with an answer, in his opinion.
