Dain: Oh, and you guys know Violet SO well?
Xaden: YES! We do!!
Rhiannon: I literally walked the parapet in her boot. I think that’s about as close as someone can get…

I've just realised, I'm trying to do the guard from discworld, aren't I?
Fourth squad, it's my attempt at doing something similar. But I'm not Terry Pratchett.
Hell with it! Here's part two of the Ursula Creed story! It's my house, I do what I want!
Orlan Vertigan gets some official post.
'Fancy letter for you, Ory!'
She took it from, Jules. It was a formal letter, like the one she got when she was accepted in to the stormtrooper division. But that hadn't ended well. She opened it, and read it.
'The Lord Castellan of Cadia formally invites you to attend dinner this evening at the regimental head quarters.' She read outloud.
Sergeant Meridia spat out her recaff, nearly choking on the remainder.
'You okay there, sarge?' Asked Orlan, not a trace of sarcasm in her voice.
'Give me that!' She demanded.
Taking the letter, she read over it. Genuine, you don't fake something like that.
'Do you know how many officers would literally kill to be invited to dinner with the Castellan? Not just lieutenants and captains, I mean right up to the general staff!'
'Must have made an impression then!' Replied Orlan.
'This doesn't sound right, Ory. Why would Ursula Creed want to have dinner with you?'
'My sparkly personality?'
'What if she tries to take advantage? What if she, like, just sweeps everything off the table! Then grabs hold of you, and lays you down. Then kisses you, but maybe holds you, gentle like. And maybe caresses your face at the same time!'
The rest of the squad room was silent.
'Something you want to share with the rest of the squad, Jules?' Asked Meridia.
She looked away, not wanting to meet any ones eye.
'It's just, you know? Officers are a different breed! Remember the captain?'
'Let's not, shall we?' Said Meridia.
The captain was a sore point. Disgraced and arrested for fraternising with a xenos. But something had happened to him in his cell overnight. They didn't know what exactly, but they had heard that he now had less brain capacity then a servitor. And despite the mess in his cell, no-one had heard a thing.
'It's just dinner, nothing hinky is going to happen! Besides, Orlan isn't into women, right?' Said Meridia.
She was silent.
'Orlan? Right?'
'I've been with a woman before.' Admitted Orlan.
'You've what?' Replied Julia.
'When I was a juve. Most of the boys I liked were intimidated by me! But the girls liked me.' She shrugged.
'What about you, sarge? Would you have done Orlan back then?' Asked Cullen.
'Oi! That's enough of that!' Snapped Meridia.
The uplifting primer didn't cover this, thought Meridia. How did you prepare someone for dinner with a lord commander?
'Have you got a parade uniform? You can't go dressed like that!'
'It's in the baggage, sarge.'
The baggage. The armies supplies, it would take at least a week to get anything out of there.
'Right. Here's what were going to do.'
Meridia went to her bunk, returning with a data key.
'This is my shower allocation. I'm allowed an extra five minutes. You are going to scrub up! Jules? Go with her, make sure she's in there the whole time!'
'Come on, sarge, I'm a grown woman!' Protested Orlan.
'Shut it! If you're going to dinner with the Castellan, you're going to look presentable!'
'Janice!' She shouted to the other end of the room. 'Get Orlan's spare uniform, see what you can patch up!'
Janice Octavian. Back in the hive, her family had worked in the cotton factories. The machines ran day and night, processing the raw materials for export off world. It was her family that had urged her to join up. The guard had to be a better life than the factory floor. She had a rare skill with a needle and thread. She could make uniforms last, long past when they should have fallen apart. It was a skill that also helped when patching up wounds.
'By tonight! Emperor's balls, sarge! I can't work miracles!' She replied.
'Just do what you can! Okay?'
'Cullen! Polish the boots. I mean so shiny you can see your face in 'em!'
'Why me?' She replied, a sullen look on her face.
'Teach you to be lippy!' Replied Meridia.
'What about you, sarge?'
'Me? Oh, I'm going to see the commissar. We'll need a permission note to go up to the HQ.'
The barrack room went deathly quiet. Even Cullen stopped complaining. Everyone knew commissar Durant didn't like the sargent. The exact reason was a little sketchy, but the rumour was it involved the commissars wife.
'You going to be okay, sarge?' Asked Orlan, but there was no sarcasm this time.
'You owe me a drink, okay?' Replied Meridia.
Orlan nodded. She grabbed a towel and went to the shower block, with Julia following behind her.
---
The whole squad walked her to the regimental HQ. Everyone was nervous. They were all hive born. Each from a different level, all with different backgrounds. Formal dinners with senior staff just didn't happen. The closest they got was sharing lunch with the lieutenant to celebrate candlemass.
'It's just a dinner. Nothing to be worried about.' Meridia told her. But she didn't believe a word of it.
'Is it too late to do a runner, sarge?' Asked Orlan.
'Far, far too late, Ory. The lord Castellan is expecting you. Can't make any excuses now.'
'Remember the forks! Watch what she uses first.' Jules told her.
Meridia went up to the main doors, the sentries were cadian. Freshly pressed uniforms, rifles in pristine condition. But only a fool would take that for granted. They were veterans, they just had that look.
She presented the letter, explaining the invitation. One of them looked over Orlan. He didn't look impressed. But he allowed her entry.
'Good luck, Ory!' Shouted Julia.
The door closed behind her.
'Think she'll be ok, sarge?' Asked Julia.
'Orlan? She could wrestle an ork to the ground and beat it to death! But the Lord Castellan of Cadia?' She didn't finish. What could she say?
'The permission note is good for a few hours. There's a sargent's mess nearby, anyone want a drink?'

Happy birthday to our favourite boy (yeah, almost all of snk boys are my favourite) - Moblit Berner!
I decided to draw him with his squad. I know that probably you'll recognise only Hange and Nifa, so I'll write their names (left to right): Nifa, Keiji, Moblit, Hange, Lauda, googled soldier (wiki said that maybe his name is Alben)
So back to Moblit. He is the best assistant! Hange is so lucky! She must really appreciate him!
It's the first time I draw that many people in one picture. And yes I got lazy drawing the last dude
So after the war is all over and everything is on the road to recovery, the Gotie 13 need to start rebuilding all of their divisions too.
The first division is focusing more on the Shino Academy. After all they need bodies, but they need trained bodies, so ain’t no one just going to skate through the academy. Nanao Ise is chosen to oversee the graduation exams to ensure the people graduating are actually ready to join the Gotie 13 and not just being pushed through.
The second division is still out hunting for any escapees from the war. The Ishida family was pardoned and therefore is not to be touched, but the other quincies who escaped and could pose a threat are being watched to make sure they don’t try anything. Soi Fon begins a club for self defense for female shinigami that Marchiyo didn’t think was the best idea, but is ignored.
The third division creates the Gotie 13 band to help promote high moral. Shuhei Hisagi helps out with this when he can, but it’s mainly Rose and partially Izuru’s pet project.
The fourth division is overwelmed, trying to care for all the people while also trying to figure out their new leadership. Isane steps in flawlessly, running the division exactly as her mentor had before. She also takes over Unohana’s flower arranging class, because it also helps with moral
The fifth isn’t like the others, they don’t really have a specialty. As the taichou, Aizen felt that wasn’t necessary. Shinji actually agrees with that, one of the only things they ever agreed on, preferring to be more adaptable. Instead Shinji and Momo try to help other divisions rebuild.
The sixth division is still connected to the Kuchiki Clan, and one of their first jobs is to help rebuild the building for the archives for the Gotie 13, a project Byakuya oversees. They also begin to help out the ninth division more with security duty since the ninth can’t do it alone anymore. Renji takes over the Gotie 13 kickball tournaments because the previous leader was killed.
Tetsuzemon Iba has a hard time taking over the seventh division. Rose comes to visit him from time to time, having worked with his mother in the past. Love drops by every so often as well to give him pointers. Iba focuses on developing his division after the fifth’s example, being diverse as possible.
The eighth suffered the least in the war due to not really participating because they had no leadership. Therefore when Lisa takes over she makes sure they are actively assisting the other divisions. Her main priority is the fourth division. She also works with Nanao on assessing the graduating students.
Kensei, Mashiro, and Shuhei make a strong team for leading the ninth. They divide up the work since the ninth actually has multiple jobs that include the magazine, the security force, and are supposed to promote culture. Shuhei makes sure all the clubs are still running to give people an escape and is working to restart the magazine to give people entertainment. Mashiro leads the security teams, getting people from the sixth, seventh, an eleventh to assist. Cooking and writing contests are used to help improve moral.
Toshiro and Rangiku don’t really know where to start at first. They’re division also doesn't really have a specialty. However they find they can easily help by just being themselves. Toshiro checks on the other divisions, especially the fifth, to make sure people aren’t running themselves into the ground. Rangiku takes the other officers out for drinks regularly to do the same thing.
The eleventh division is actually pretty down on moral. They lost Yachiru, something that hit them all hard because while they like the atmosphere of the 11th, the cheerful girl running around was candy was always a nice change. Kenpachi and Ikkaku jump back into training, and Yumichika ensures there’s more enjoyable things for the division to do. They send people to the ninth on security patrols and work to rebuild.
The twelveth is the least changed on moral. The division as a whole always had low moral to begin with. However it is going up because now they’re taichou can’t use any of them for his experiments as they are too low on people. They, like the fourth, are the most utilized the division in the rebuild as their technologies are needed to help create temporary structures until perminate ones can be made.
The thirteenth also took the loss of their taichou hard, but Rukia has proven to be an excellent head for them. With Kiyone and Sentaro as he advisors, the three help rebuild much of the thirteenth. They prioritize helping the sixth division and the eighth division. Love also stops by when he visits to see Sentaro.
Sunday morning poll alert!
I've started writing something about my imperial guard oc's meeting lord Castellan creed. Just for fun. Guardsman Orlan had been invited to the regimental HQ as a guest of the Castellan.
Should I finish the story? Got sort of an idea where the conversation is going to go. A partial lore drop, some truths from Orlan. I biased, but I think it's good.
It's two people from vastly different backgrounds. Ursula Creed is nobility from lost cadia. Career solider. You can't go higher up the food chain than that!
Orlan is hive born. Joining the guard was her only chance to escape. But that is explained in mama Vertigan's story. It's in the drafts.
But just because it's two women, it doesn't mean we have to turn it into smut!
... right?
The Lord Castellan invites you to dinner - worth finishing?
Yes, finish the story. Just gals being pals of course!
No.
The court unicorns has decided. We demand smut.
