@no-thought-just-bird Okay, here you go! :D
Foxblaze is Thriftflower's sister and Hollyblaze's (grand? I'm still working out ages for everyone) daughter! She's... Kind of the Clan Mean Girl, with the strength to back it up! She's sassy, strong, energetic, a bit of a hot-head... None of these would be too bad on their own, necessarily, but Foxblaze takes them to the extreme! She's always jumping into unnecessary battles, trying to save the smallest bit of territory, which has earned her quite a few battle scars! Thankfully, noone has gotten too hurt yet...
She's not all bad! She does have a soft side, often found gossiping with her sister. It could be argued that most of her fights are just good intentions taken the wrong way, and most things seem to go with her...
I'm glad you like the name! :D I imagine she got it because of her spots looking kind of like slugs, really thick, and the stripes on her face, especially her eyes being especially so! (I also gave her some white splotches. She's the only cat I've drawn so far, I'll have to post her later!)
Slugface is the Clan Medicine Cat, and one of the older cats in the Clan, around 72-84 moons. As one would expect of a medicine cat, she is kind and caring, almost motherly, although age has slowly turned her serious and stubborn. However, she is odd for a medicine cat in the sense of, while she believes in Starclan, she doesn't actively seek them out. She speaks with them, sure, but she tends to not hold the belief that every problem the Clan faces is caused by their Warrior Ancestors. This does, occasionally, cause problems, as Slugface will look for a rational solution while Starclan tries to send an omen (she's missed more than one) but she still holds firm in her belief that not every problem is caused by -or needs to be answered by - Starclan.
While most medicine cats, and even some of the older Clan members, worry that the fire was a sign from Starclan, Slugface adamantly refuses so.
She also has a crush on Redheart, but the two have agreed to wait until Slug has trained an apprentice before moving their relationship forward.
Don’t ya just love heartbreakers?
Finally finished my Foxsona, and I am SO happy with how it looks! :D
foxblaze said: I swear, because of 3 I went back to watch that scene several times because it was so funny 15 made me lawl XD 16 when that happened, it surprised me cause before I was too young to fully comprehend what had happened, but seeing that episode recently made me go daaaaaayum 17 I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT THAT HOLY SHIT! But I mean based on a couple posts I’ve seen and his mannerisms on the show I could see him being bi or pan and into that sort of thing
Sounds like you had a nice time rewatching it haha. xD
I’m very, very on board with pansexual Neil. It’s a nice solid headcanon (and there are some tellings of the Narcissus myth where the person of his desires is a male, soooooo...).
never to be finished. I overcomplicated the design and worked too hard to scrap it
Two requests I did. The first is Goldriver and Sungaze for Mountain Dew. The second is Foxblaze with her kits for Fox.
Do you have any tutorials available on doing backgrounds? Every time I try it doesn't look great, or even right with my style. I mostly struggle with rocks and trees, but also have difficulty with texturing dirt or sandy pathways, and past tutorials I tried to follow didn't work. I really need to practice doing backgrounds because I really want to become an animator, and already have a project in mind to do, and I want it to be as good as I can make it
Here's some tutorials that helped me out in thepast:
Rocks
Grass
Dirt/ground
bushes/leaves
water
The most important thing though is touse references! I always gather as many as I can before painting abg, and from those refs I am able to sculpt my own believablelandscape from them. Of course, it’s going to take a lot of practice before you make a bg that you’ll be satisfied with. My backgrounds used to be so bad before I started practicing and using references. xD (here’s an example)
If you want to learn some techniquesfrom other artists, look up some landscape speed paints and processvideos. Keep in mind that atmosphere, colors, and composition are allimportant to think about as well. Hope this helps!
