CURRENTLY READING: MARCH 2025
Voyage of the Damned by Frances White
Full disclosure, I don't expect to enjoy this. I might even end up doing a live blog of it, considering the synopsis online says it's a tiktok book. I didn't actually choose this book, when you subscribe to Illumicrate you can't skip the first box and this was my first box. Regardless it IS pretty and I do have someone to give it to when I'm done, so I'll give itthe best chance I can.

💀 🐇 Meet The Cast 🐇💀 Art by @ etherah_art Design by @ ellyishstudios Despite how adorable these characters are, please note that The Bone Door is an adult fantasy horror novel! BLURB: When Hop awakens in an ancient labyrinth, he has no memory of his life before, or how he got here. He does not recognise the mysterious girl trapped with him. And he certainly cannot identify the shadowy figure stalking him, whispering terrible things... But there is one thing he is certain of. He must escape. The only way out of the labyrinth is through The Bone Door. But it lies behind a series of locked doors hidden across an array of strange realms. To open the way, Hop must complete impossible tasks before his time runs out. As Hop travels deeper, he discovers that he and his companions may be more connected to the place and its horrors than he could ever imagine. Unless Hop is able to unravel the true mystery of the labyrinth, including his own role within it, the Bone Door and any hope of escape will be lost forever.
JUST finished Voyage of the Damned by Frances White and it's still good but I have to get something off my chest (spoilers). I did not like the final twist. I think I'm just bitter because I got really attached to Wyatt and I liked what they were doing with Dee trying to move on and stuff, and when it was revealed to be Ravi I was just like "oh you. I don't care about you anymore." I get itttt it was never really Wyatt it was Ravi the whole time but it still felt like we never really learned much more about him. Like he never felt like a person as much as a concept haunting the narrative to me, and that didn't stop when he was brought back, so I kinda just didn't care. Anyway Dee is still a fave but you can rip Dee/Wyatt crackship out of my cold dead hands
