Soooo I decided to do a thing (and it took forever to do) I drew Lyra’s family.
So without further ado here’s the noble family of the peacock, The Slaquer’s
Lyra’s eldest uncle, Duke Jean-Burte and Dutchess Celine of Ersallies
Jean and his wife actually live in the capital city of Castillion, Rosé, in their family owned palace. Jean is a very good politician and he is close to the ruling empress, Empress Brietta-Marie.
They live in their grand palace, with their children....
(Oldest from left to right)
Camille Linnet Giovanne (Slaquer) who is holding her daughter Lyra-Rose, Francois Burte Slaquer, Sébastien Abrahm Slaquer, Eloise Angelique Slaquer, and the twins, Raymond Emile Slaquer and Raine Amelie Slaquer (who passed away at age 12).
Camille is the eldest daughter, she is the perfect mother. Weather she is in the aviary with her birds, crocheting outside in the gardens, or simply stroking around the many halls of the grand palace, her children are always by her side. She is married to the Empress’s advisor’s youngest son, Emile Giovanne. He travels a ton, as he is a messenger for the capital, so Camille is often alone. But the company of her family keeps her sadness and longing for her husband away.
As a child, while Lyra still lived in Castillion, she felt very much responsible for her cousions and strived to act very mature, especially around adults. However this didn’t prevent her from participating in the occasional shenanigan her younger siblings and cousions had drummed up.
Francois Burte Slaquer is an accomplished horseback rider. He has won several races and competes in every Equestrian event the country has to offer. Not only does he race horses but he also breeds them. He also is known for his pranks and jokes he pulls with the help of his brother Sébastien, whom he is very close to. Francois is married to Andre Carreve, who has been looking after the family’s horses since age 10.
When he was young, Francois and Sébastien seemed to be the leaders of their group of siblings and cousions. The two would often plan out elaborate games and jokes to get their family all to play together. The cousions were often late to formal gatherings due to one of their infamous last minutes games of hide and seek.
Sébastien Abrahm Slaquer is the king of parties and gossip. Although he was only born with one ear his sense of hearing is keen and sharp and he often witnesses the latest gossip before it even hits the town. Sébastien is unmarried but has had many affairs in the past. His past lovers always leaving him due to his clingy nature and his need to spoil his partners. Sébastien often laments to Francois about his lover troubles, although Francois listens he often feels like he would give bad advice. Francois usually catches his lovers by sending them vulgar and romantic poems, other than that he doesn’t really have a job. But his family is greatful for his company anyways.
As a child him and his older brother Francois always caused trouble, stirring up mayhem in as many galas and balls as they could. Francois always came up with the prank ideas and Sébastien found a way to make it reality.
Eloise Angelique Slaquer is one of the top dancers in the Royal Ballet Company of Rosè. Dance is her life and life is her dance. To her rest and relaxation is for weak dancers. She often isn’t home with her family due to travel with the company she works for. She holds her head, and her title, up on a high pedestal and often finds her older brother’s shenanigans to be childish and rather foolish. She is unmarried for no man or woman has risen up to her standards.
As a child she was often teased as the middle child, and she was always jealous of her younger cousions, Raine and Lyra’s, abilities in dancing. Her instructors would often praise them in her other classes. She would participate in the games as she had nothing better to do, athoigh she would complain and whine the entire time.
Raymond Emile Slaquer is the youngest living child of Jean-Burte. He is an accomplished musician and he conducts one of the top orchestras in Castillion. He is flirtatious and rather scandalous, especially towards men. He is unmarried but has been seeing the Marquee of Rosè, Pierre Baguette. Who he met at Lyra’s funeral.
As a child Raymond was very, very, close to Lyra. He was almost her big brother. Raymond always made sure the other cousions didn’t leave her out, and if she was falling behind in their games he would fall behind with her. Raymond taught Lyra to dance and how to play the piano.
Raine Amélie Slaquer only lived to be 12. She did ballet with her younger cousin Lyra for a year before she fell ill. Although she loved her family dearly she was often sick and spent most of her time in her room with her governess. On the rare occasion she did go outside she would watch and cheer her family on as they played.
