sometimes i forget how random, unnatural and violent borders are only to be hit by it like a slap of cold water in the face.
Today it's this: the dual city of Frankfurt Oder and Słubice used to be one city but got cut up due to new borders post-WW2, making one side of the city german and the other polish. And I am not saying it should have been just polish or just german. Bc no matter how we look at it and where we start drawing lines on the map, people who just happened to live there would end up being sorted and separated.
My point is, modern borders are so oddly not how humans live and walk the earth. And I cannot understand why we are still doing this.
