So I just rediscovered this piece, which I sang with my high school choir!! I love this piece so much, and I also love these virtual choir things, they’re so neat. Gonna go cry now

I find Franz Biebl's setting of "Ave Maria" really soothing. I think it has to do with the fact that it's musically made up of loops, so to speak; there's the main verse repeats, but also little tone patterns that crop up again and again, with slight variations, plus the call and response between the two choirs.

My choir sang this tonight, and now I just keep humming my part to myself. There are worse ways to end an evening.
