We love the calligraphic half-title and the linoleum prints that adorn this 1954 edition of Aesop's Fables. The design and linoleum blocks are by Antonio Frasconi, the book was printed by Joseph Blumenthal at The Spiral Press, New York, and the publisher was the Museum of Modern Art. Quite a collaboration!⠀ ⠀ #art #design #calligraphy #lettering #handlettering #cursive #linocut #printmaking #frasconi #finepress #rarebooks #specialcollections #universityofmissouri #mizzou #libraries #librariesofinstagram #ifttt

Good ol' Frasconi... (via James Russell: Discovering Antonio Frasconi, Woodcut Artist)
