OKAY FRICK LEMME TELL U A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT THE MOVIE CALLED AQUAMAN
UMMMMM… PERFECTION??? I cringe at DC and their quest to be Marvel as much as the next rational human but if you can just forget about all that for 2 seconds and eat your popcorn, you will realize that Aquaman (2018) is literally a god tier film.
Jason Momoa? MMMMMMM. He did THAT. He did it for US.
Amber Heard? Beautiful. Badass. That jellyfish dress? Iconic. A ray of sunshine. THE SCENE WITH THE WINE BOTTLES YOU KNOW THE ONE I JUST UGH WHAT A QUEEN. My absolute queen. Bow down.
Their relationship? Amazing. Well developed. Beautiful. Soft. Based on real friendship and mutual respect. MY king and queen of Atlantis.
Willem Dafoe and his man bun riding a shark in a skintight suit? Hecking yes. The quality content we deserve.
Nicole Kidman and Temuera Morrison? Beautiful. Best love story. Still better than Twilight.
Patrick Wilson? Snapped. So evil. So conflicted. Having so much fun. Love that for him.
John Rhys-Davies voices a CRAB KING??? U think I’m lying? I’m not. He voices a crab king and yes it’s exactly as lit as you think it is.
The colors? THE VISUALS??? Ugh. That scene where Arthur’s holding the flare and they’re going down into the trench kingdom I just UGH. Tears in my eyes. Flawless. Beautiful. If they don’t get an Oscar I will riot.
The costumes and set designs?? They literally designed everything based off of real sea creatures and u can tell??? Women’s armor is functional AND covered in mermaid scales??? Jason Momoa in armor frick yeah.
THE FIGHT SCENES? The one in Sicily? No spoilers but BOY OH BOY do I love me two simultaneous rooftop chase scenes.
THE SCORE???? MORE TEARS IN MY EYES??? I AM A SUCKER FOR SOME WELL TIMED VIOLINS.
THE MESSAGE and the way Arthur’s character development was so perfect that we learned all these lessons along with him yet still sympathized with him from the get go??? Protecting the oceans? Showing mercy to your enemies? Overcoming our differences because everybody matters? HECK YEAH DUDE.
And not even to mention the whole thing about how the whole time he’s struggling with being from two different worlds and not feeling like he 100% belongs in either one - which is a pretty great metaphor for being biracial which YUH YUH YUH x100. But even just for anyone who has ever been conflicted about their identity in any capacity... Man I love Arthur Curry okay. 11/10 would die for him.
Okay basically go see Aquaman (2018) I promise it’s everything and more. We love one (1) iconic movie. Okay bye.
