ohhh kishu ken!! i hadn’t considered that one. that would be VERY cute too...

i know it’s kind of the basic answer, but i can’t help having always associated sabo with golden retrievers lol. the wavy golden fur just seems Right. to this day i always think of him when i see them on the street.

if we’re including wild dogs, tho, i’ve also always associated him with the himalayan wolf bc they’re cute and fluffy but also are....wild. like sabo! haha

they’re soooo adorable and one of my earlier ships for usopp, but not a ship that i think about that often. always love seeing art/fanfics of those two though, and absolutely love their relationship and interactions in canon.

love how sanji is kinda sensitive to usopp’s self-confidence issues and encourages him, like when he was like “that’s our sharpshooter!” at enies lobby that was sooo cute. i love the straw hats supporting each other. meanwhile usopp being done with sanji’s pervertedness is funny bc sanji is really so extra sometimes and we need someone to rein him in (although sometimes usopp joins in too) lol.

OH just as ppl in the fandom like gay best friends zoro and nami, i hc usopp and sanij as bi best buds, and they talk about stuff together a lot.

“Tell me you love me.”

His voice cracks into pieces like the rest of him.

She was going to be impassive.  She was going to be strong.  She wasn’t going to cry.  She wasn’t going to look at him — she was going to close her eyes.

“Tell me you love me.”

It’s a command.  It’s a plea.  It’s the voice of a tyrant.  It’s the voice of a broken, terrified child.  It’s everything she doesn’t want to hear.

She was going to close her eyes.  But her eyes are open, and so are his, and they are both falling into pieces before each other’s eyes.

She steps forward.  She holds his fractured face in her hands.  He is everything and he is nothing and she knows him and she doesn’t.  He is the world.

And he’s the end of it.

“Please.”

She presses her lips to his one last time, as their bodies shatter around them.  It tastes like the first kiss, it tastes like a kiss that never was.

Her lies feel thick in her throat when she says the last thing she will ever say, the first thing she has ever said.

“I can’t.”

And then they are nothing, and everything, and they and everything they have ever felt is gone, lost in the shards that fling themselves to the wind.  And it’s over.

And it’s starting again.
