Saving diamonds everyday like
I'm almost finished with Chevalier's romantic route (for all Chevalier fans, save the 1K Diamonds for his premium love scene in the romantic route. Not only is it worth it, but you also get to replay it over and over again 😍😘), and these are my observations about the latest otome app in the Ikemen series. For context, I am a free player and I don't spend for playing otome apps (I also don't have the money to) so any premium items I've purchased I spent awhile to first farm for the premium currency (usually diamonds). The app that I have played the most is Ikemen Vampire but I've also played Ikemen Sengoku (as a matter of fact Ikesen was my 1st love). I'm still active in Ikevamp but I've stopped playing IkeSen for now.
My observations for Ikemen Prince (as an app, the story quality I'll post after my second run with Chev - but as far as story is concerned its high quality and I'm satisfied) are as follows:
- Among the 3 Cybird apps I've played with so far, this is the least free player friendly. Maybe I'm mistaken but unlike in Ikevamp and Ikesen wherein you can watch ads to earn diamonds, so far the only sure way to earn diamonds is through the login bonus, the coin gacha (but that's a by chance basis), and the occasional surprise bonus for winning a salon battle to gain more intimacy. Unlike the previous 2 apps, IkePri has a subscription service available for those who have the money for it, and a watch for free ticket service for those who are impatient to continue with the story (but this is only available once a day based on my experience). These encourage players to spend money or at least be super strategic in how resources are spent.
For Yves' birthday (I could be mistaken since the notif appeared while I was in class so I ignored it), I don't think there was any freebie given to celebrate his birthday. Compared to Ikevamp, whenever its a character's birthday you at the very least get a free additional closet space. Another comparison between the two apps is that the free gacha tickets available in Ikepri is only for the standard gacha and can't be used in any other special gacha. Whereas in Ikevamp as long as you've got the tokens, you could use it in any gacha. Ikepri's gacha is closer to ikesen's gacha since not all gachas in ikesen are available to the free player relying on tickets or tokens earned, but is definitely more accessible than Ikepri.
Ikevamp is the most free player friendly with ikesen being in the middle and Ikepri being the least.
An important note is that you don't need to spend actual money to enjoy any of these games. Their main selling point is the character route stories which for a free player will take 25 days of free tickets to complete (50 if you plan to do both endings). But having said that it is more difficult to farm for premium items in Ikepri. Depending on how the events will be in Ikepri and for a free player, I feel like beyond main route stories and the birthdays of my favorite lovers (I'm saving for Chev's bday right now) I won't be as active in Ikepri compared to Ikevamp.
- There is a weird system of followers rather than friends which makes it more trickier to farm for gold. Unlike Ikevamp and Ikesen wherein you have 50 friends that can give you coins by greeting them everyday (and the convenience of the "Greet all" button), Ikepri has a follower system which I find puzzling. You can only follow 50, but people following you could be 100? And your most reliable source of income are people who follow you back. I feel like this is cybird's way of encouraging people to spend money because gold farming in Ikepri isn't as reliable as Ikevamp or Ikesen.
- On the more positive side, the card system has improved compared to Ikevamp. If one of the main attractions for you is the card game system then I think you'll enjoy Ikepri. In Ikepri, the cg photos are automatically available as cards without having to buy it (as far as I understand since I don't give much importance to cards). This is an improvement from Ikevamp wherein you need to buy the cg card to use it. This next feature gives me mixed feelings. In ikepri, if there is a duplicate of a card you already have then it levels up the points of the card, but there is a max number of level ups (I'm not sure if its 15). In ikevamp, if you receive a duplicate card, it becomes a trading stamp that you can use to trade for other cards not in the gacha rotation, avatar items, or for the 4 star minimum token. Personally these two are just different systems, my problem with ikepri's level up system is that the level ups are mostly applicable to lower tier cards. You would be lucky to get a duplicate of a bigger tier card. And because there is a max level of upgrades, I don't know what would happen if there is another duplicate after a card reaches max level. Do I wish there was a card upgrade available in ikevamp? Yes, I do, but maybe not as something automatic but upon the player's choice of what card to upgrade (so far the only card upgrades I got are for characters I don't care about).
Those are my observations so far, of the ikepri app. It may change later.
Went out to see Free Player (Free Guy in French) this afternoon and I’m laughing forever because the French voice actor they picked for Jack is the same as Sheldon in Big Bang Theory.
The movie itself was amazing, especially since I watched it in 4DX, I had a blast but that little voice actor detail will not leave my mind I’ve been laughing the whole afternoon thinking about it 😂😂
Goddamnit, I just got one UR from Natsuki's gacha and it wasn't his birthday card :))))
