Random thing I thought:
I think it’s pretty obvious that Fraxus won’t be canon and that miraxus will be (as much as I hate this since I hc Mira as lesbian and Laxus as gay). So here’s my take on their relationship and how it affects their friends:
• They ended up together due to comphet/not assuming they were gay. They both know the other doesn’t love them in this way but they pretend.
•Mira had a crush on Erza but she married Jellal. She also had a little crush on Cana. But she never confessed it to any of them because she was scared they would react badly and hate her (even though they wouldn’t have for sure)
•Mira and Laxus both have a lot of internalized homophobia but in completely different ways.
•Pre BOFT Laxus would be homophobic like mean comments which had really hurt Freed (even though he never directly insulted him). After he came back to the guild he apologized to him and never said anything homophobic again.
•Meanwhile Mira would just hate herself (religious trauma?) and find people who openly admitted they’re queer very brave/ she wish she could be more like that.
•Laxus never admitted to himself that he was in love with Freed and when Freed confessed to himself he turned him down (but like he didn’t outright said no in hope Freed would get that there was more to it). He thought that one day he’ll be ready to accept his feelings and be happy with Freed but that day never came.
•Ever and Bickslow understood that Laxus was just scared of his feelings and tried to talk about it to Freed who probably just thought they tried to comfort him and preferred not to have disillusions.
•Then they tried to make Laxus understand that he had to tell Freed he just needed time but every time he would get mad at them and deny that he had any feelings for Freed.
• Eventually, Freed starts dating Hibiki (I actually love Freebiki btw) and Laxus believe it’s nothing serious between them thinking that Freed still loves him more than Hibiki. But he’s still jealous.
•Laxus would constantly make comments and jokes about how much he despise Hibiki. One day Freed had enough of it and he stands up for his boyfriend. That’s when Laxus understood that it was too late and Freed was truly over him.
•Ever since that day he never felt as close to Freed as before. And was heartbroken.
•Mira once drank with Cana and kissed her because she was drunk. Both girls are sure the other have forgot even though they both absolutely remember it (and loved it).
