Hundreds gathered in support of freedom of the press in Mexico alongside Tijuana journalists, as those in attendance remembered and marched in protest of the recent killings of reporter Lourdes Maldonado and photographer Margarito Martínez Esquivel to the offices of the nation’s general prosecutor on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. — Around the country in many simultaneous events in different cities, journalists joined countless in protesting what now have been three consecutive assassinations of members of the Mexican press in this month alone.
