Elena/Mikaelson ships are weird by default but sure-

Esther/Elena

Frankly more witches should've been weird about the dopplegangers (a large part of why there should've been more doppleganger lines) but imagine sentencing an entire bloodline to death to make your children immortal and then using that same blood to try to kill them again and again. I think Esther should've kidnapped Elena when she tried to kill her kids a second time and kept her starved and chained up and needy and used her as leverage while knowing Elena would never escape.

Mikael/Elena

I don't think Mikael ever planned to kill the doppleganger girl I think he wanted to take her away and prepare her to kill Klaus. And I think he would've been Weird about it

Freya/Elena

I think Freya would mostly be weird about her because the rest of the family is weird about her and she's just trying to fit in. But also having magic blood to use in your spells is incredibly sexy. I think Elena would've fallen for her the same way Keelin did.

Finn/Elena

Idk maybe Esther would've had better luck getting Elena on the Family Mass Murder train if she'd taken advantage of her hot son to seduce her. He probably would've felt bad about cheating on Sage but I think they'd all be okay in the end.

Elijah/Elena

He's collecting those girls like Pokemon. He's probably encouraging her to seek "human connection" so she can get pregnant and continue the bloodline so he can have another one in a few centuries.

Klaus/Elena

AU where the ritual created a soulbond between them and it was supposed to make Klaus depressed forever because his Mate is dead but Elena lives and Klaus kills his hybrids because he gets jealous about them having Elena's blood in them forever.

Kol/Elena

Kol makes a bet with Rebekah that he can seduce the doppleganger faster than Elijah and it actually works and he's pretty sure the only reason Klaus hasn't daggered him for stealing his doppleganer's attention is because Elena threatened to throw herself of Wickery Bridge if he did that.

Rebekah/Elena

We all saw the no humanity era but I prefer the version where Elena does have her emotions and she seduces Rebekah with her insistence on finding joy and whimsy in everything

What do you think are the red flags in each Elena x Mikaelson relationship

To preface this: I am a turbo fan of all Elena/Mikaelson pairings, so please do not bite off my nose and/or toes. I need those probably.

Freya – I’ll be honest I don’t think about this ship often. But there’s no way Freya prioritizes Elena over her siblings if it really comes down to it. So it’s probably that. She’s too much of a family woman—and Elena is, too—so they hit an impasse. Freya will always pick her siblings, and Elena will always pick Jeremy and her friends.

Finn – I mean… Elena gets him either at the height of his suicidal ideation or during his baby-murder era. So. Yeah. Definitely that part. (But Finn would also get her at the start of her double-dipper depression gauntlet—season three and onward—so it’s a two-way bad-part-of-town street here.) Also, Elena’s friends helped murder him, so.

Elijah – By the time they reunite in season three, Elijah has gotten everything he wanted, while Elena is in a much worse position than she was when she met him. In many ways, she doesn’t actually get much out of being with him aside from the eye candy. I talked about a few of these points (and more) in my longer Elejah post.

Klaus – lmfaoooooooooo oh my gooooooood. This man can’t shut up and can’t stop ruining her life. He wants to fuck her so badly it makes him evil on a cartoonish stupid level. Just once I wish we could shrink him down, put him in the Rainbow Dash cum jar with, like, razor blades, and shake him really hard. That’d teach him a lesson. Also the aunt-killing ranks pretty high on the red flag list. As does the normal murdering of one’s body, the stealing of one’s blood, the erosion of one’s autonomy, and whatever the fuck Klaus was doing to Tyler.

Kol – 100% it’s the fact that Kol probably fucked her brother. But I guess if you’re stupid and blind and don’t believe in Keremy, then I guess it’s the fundamental incompatibility between their worldviews or whatever. Also, she helped kill him (personally, this time) so… that too.

Rebekah – whatever the fuck this scene was:

“I told you, I don’t like shortbread,” said Freya. “Well, maybe you should go have Merlin’s shortbread,” said Elena. “Do you want his shortbread?” “Not particularly,” said Freya. “Well, fine,” Elena said, tone uncomfortably close to a snarl. “I’ll go home by myself. Have fun texting Merlin.” She snatched up her handbag and strutted away, and as she was leaving the pub it dawned on Freya that there might have been more to that exchange that, y’know, shortbread.
