Swallowing, he opened his eyes, targeting hers and hitting them head on. “I need to make one thing very clear to you, before we go any further.” Without waiting for her to answer, he went on. “She is the... only reason I lived long enough to get clean.”

He blinked twice and let your arm slide from his grasp, the missing contact sending a chill over your flesh. “No,” he stated simply, his dark eyes narrowing as you dropped your gaze to the floor.

It felt like the quick stab and twist of a blade to hear the word you anticipated hearing. But it’s… it wouldn’t just be… not if he doesn’t want to-

“I don’t want that.”

Hi Dani! Oh this angel indeed. I love him oh so much... unfortunately he is not in for fun times in Part Six of Passing Through but uh... here’s five anyway- 

Shit. You followed immediately, the toes of your boots finding the heel prints of his in the snow. “Ryan, w-”

He stopped suddenly, causing you to nearly run into him, and turned his head so that you could just make out the profile of his face in the glow of the streetlights. A puff of vapor came from his lips as he let out a breath, and you watched him curl his gloved hands into tight fists at his sides. His nose wrinkled as he sniffed, and for a few fleeting seconds you were afraid that he was just going to shake his head and keep walking.

THE SUGARPLUM! Oh, hi, Benj!! Alright, five from five of Too Good to Be True, in which our favorite history buff consults his closest ally regarding the witch herself- 

Sighing, he hung his head, gripping the backs of his shoulders. Of course he didn’t know. Picking his head back up, he explained everything that you had told him about Julia and her involvement with your job. “She came back to the room in...in tears. And she’s...she thinks that the reason she was picked for this contract is just… just so that Julia can-”

Phoebe! You absolutely may :D This one is still very much in the scattered scraps of scenes stage, so I actually don’t know which “part” this one will be from... BUT! The title of the series is Point of No Return. So here’s five with Ezra- 

“That is true,” he agreed, squinting at her as she pointedly avoided making eye contact with anything but the book she held. His pinky finger slid up and down through the condensation on the outside of his glass. “But I know from experience that the view from here is simply incomparable to sitting on the bank and-”

“I don’t want to sit in the mud on the bank.” Her eyes flicked up at him then, flashing that same unexpected intensity that he had first seen when she held his gun on him in the drop pod after shooting him with her own.

“Listen pal,” Kevin turned, his hand falling away from your hip but the other still firmly wrapped around your wrist. “I don’t know who the fuck you think you are, but this is my-” 

Ryan’s eyes flashed like coal black lightning, his nostrils flaring slightly as he took another step closer, speaking over Kevin while still managing to keep his tone even. “She’s not your anythin’, and she’s makin’ that very clear.”
