Okay. Listen. This all started because Carrie wrote a snippet of something set in the future where they interacted and unintentionally made it super flirty, but lowkey it makes a lot of sense when you think about it? You should know I'm half a bottle of wine deep as I write this but here's the thing:

Neither Frank or Piper is right for their canon partner. Frank and Hazel were best friends with zero chemistry and Jason and Piper's relationship was built on six months worth of lies. and do I think Piper broke up with Jason because she realized she was gay? yes but we'll ignore that for the sake of Friper

Do they have a lot of canon interaction? Admittedly no, but that's what makes them have so much potential. I'm thinking 5-6+ years down the line, when they've both broken up with their respective partners and they've been casual friends for a while and hang out in group settings and all that. But they've both grown up, Frank has grown into himself and gained a lot of confidence being Praetor and all. And Piper has grown up too, maybe living in new rome after college etc.

Like they saved the world together but they don't really know each other, you know? And then they get to know each other and realize they actually do have stuff in common beyond the fact that they went on this quest together, and hey now that we're all grown up this person is pretty attractive and hm maybe there is something there and voila you have friper!!!!

Okay yes absolutely. Please bear in mind that this was all developed in tandem with @captain-jackson who honestly should be getting most of the credit because she wrote them flirty i was just the one to point it out. And 90% of this is her hc. Anyway:

The thing is these two absolutely do not work together in their HOO level of development as teenagers. It really is a post-canon adults reconnecting situation.

Percy and Annabeth definitely go to New Rome for college. Frank is definitely there, depending on what elements of post-hoo canon you accept Piper may or may not be there, but Piper and Annabeth are basically family at this point so it doesn't matter so much. But anyway, Percy and Frank were already good friends but if they're living in the same city they'll definitely be best friends by the end of college.

Eventually Percy and Annabeth move back to New York to be closer to Percy's family, and maybe Piper lives closer by too. Frank comes to visit and Annabeth suggests they all go to dinner together to catch up. But whoopsies, Percy and Annabeth have to leave a little early (perhaps the babysitter calls!) but Frank and Piper decide to hang out at the bar a little longer, and they get to talking and they realize the other person is actually really funny and they never really got to know each other outside of the quest and they've both changed a lot in the meantime but they still have this big thing in common that not a lot of other people understand.

And if we go along with canon versions of events through trials of apollo, I feel like Frank has gone through a tremendous amount of growth (even if I don't particularly agree with all the choices that were made with his character) & I think it's fair to say that Frank grew into being a confident, powerful adult. Through TOA Piper also goes through a lot in terms of self-discovery and maturing and everything.

They also just have a lot of stuff that they could connect over, beyond the obvious quest stuff. Both of them were friends with Jason in a way that percy and annabeth never really were, so it might be nice to have someone to talk about it with even if it's been a while since he died. Both of them have really complicated relationships with their parents (especially their mortal parents).

And I just think they could vibe? Like I think Frank's newfound adult confidence would really attract Piper, and Piper has always been fun and had a good sense of humor in a way that might be a little disarming to Frank (in a good way) because he's always been a little more serious. They're definitely kind of an opposites attract situation, but if you think about it in the context of who they could be as adults instead of the teens we're presented with in the books I think it could really work.

Anyways <3 it seems like a crack ship and it is a little but I think it makes sense in specific circumstances!!

Friper is one of the most underrated ships!! I read a fic where they met up after not really seeing each other for years at annabeth and Percy’s wedding or something and they hit it off and every since then I’ve been a believer! Piper works well with soo many characters for me (except Jason for some reason)

Yes!!! We love friper!!!!! And Piper being so shippable is so true. She's such a dynamic character I feel like she works with so many different personalities <3 she really does bring out the best in people!!!! i don't love her with jason in canon but I think in certain fanon situations they can be a good pair.

As for that fic.....,, I did drunkenly write something in march with a similar premise 😭 it was mostly percabeth themed but they were at a friper wedding. I hope that's not what you're talking about because I really want more friper fics to exist and i want to read the one you're talking about 😭😭😭

Got any headcanons for fripazeleo?(Frank/Piper/Leo/Hazel)

I have some yes, enjoy ^^ :

-Arion and Festus are their pets (even if Arion don't want to admit he likes them).

-Arion prefers Leo to Frank which makes Mars' son jealous. But the horse still refuses to obey to both of them, only Hazel and Piper can give him orders, the first one cause she gives him gold and Piper thanks to her charmspeak (and cause she can be pretty scary when she wants).

-Frank helps Leo in his workshop, and the time he spends with Festus in there makes him have a better knowledge of the dragons, in order to be able to turn himself into one. Leo's favorite transformation of his.

-Festus is their main conveyance and Leo always is the one to drive it (cause they'll never leave him touch the car, he's a true danger behind the wheel).

-Leo and Hazel regularly train together at using their powers.

-Reyna is their closest friend and confident, which can sometimes be hard to manage for her when they have a conflict and all call her at the same time.

-Aurum and Argentum are good friends with Festus and everytime Reyna comes visit her friends, she brings her dogs, and they play with the dragon all day.

-The group always accepts with a great pleasure to babysit Chuck when Hedge and Mellie need it.

-When they hesitate about which activity they want to do or about which movie/serie they'll watch, and they're two against two, Leo always insists for consider Festus as a fifth voice, but this stratagem often turns against him, Festus having a soft spot for Hazel.

-During movie nights, Frank always is the first one to fall asleep, and when he does, Hazel, Leo and Piper must carry him together in order to bring him to bed.

-Hazel loves cuddle, that's why Frank, Piper and Leo always cuddle her when they kiss her, in the morning, before leaving for work, in front of TV, before falling asleep...

-Piper gives the roughest and most passionated kisses.

-Piper keeps borrowing Frank's praetor dress in order to annoy him. Frank plays the annoyance, but he secretly loves seeing her wearing it.

-Piper and Leo don't like going to shopping, but when it means seeing Hazel trying clothes and advicing her, they always are the first ones ready to go.

-Piper really likes organizing their day at the Gay Pride (makeup, clothes, different flags...), that's an event they'd miss for nothing in the world.

-Leo and Piper introduce Hazel and Frank at many of their favorites artists (Hazel discovers them cause she didn't grow up in this century, and Frank cause with a grandmother as strict as his, he never was able to discover many modern musics).

-Piper and Leo quickly convert Hazel to meme culture. She loves it so much that she always try to answer to anything with memes, which always confuses Frank and makes Leo and Piper die of laughter.

-Hazel and Frank, after many weeks, manage to convince Leo to come visit them at Camp Jupiter (which would be easier for all them because of Frank work). The Hephaestus' son hesitates a long time before finally accepts, cause he still feels responsible for attacking them the first and only time he came to the city. But his girlfriends and his boyfriend are always here to support and reassure him.

-Leo offers the best gifts of all : many of his own inventions, machine shows, fireworks...

-Hazel and Frank always are busy, so Leo and Piper usually take care of everything at home, to let them rest after a long day of hard work with the legion.

-When Leo stays in his workshop all day and forget to eat and sleep, without noticing, his partners force him to go out in order to feed him and make him go to bed, where they put him between them and cuddle in order to dissuade him from leaving to go back to his workshop.

Oh yes of course.

At first it was only to pair Frank and Piper in my Lazel and Jeyna AU, then I started to really ship it and I discovered that they are a lots more alike than we could think:

They both have a problem with their godly parent but later assume it and accept it with proud,

They are courageous and determined in everything they do,

Piper could really help Frank with his father's benediction,

And they have families issues that they could help each other to solve.
