it's reading the prequel and seeing yx and smc calling tx "Brother Tao"

then developing the formality of Tao Xuan

idk, friendship breakups are sad not gonna lie :/

i mean it was over since the start of the novel

but the prequel really likes to twist the knife

it's amazing to be honest. whats nice is that this is theme, this sense of growth

the people the characters in the prequel are no longer who they are in the novel

they may be fundamentally the same people, but

just like with sun zheping's very obvious presence in prequel and absence in novel

just like su muqiu's brief appearance

just like tao xuan being just a man, who got lucky and just happened to be the manager who ran the team who won the first season

just like huang shaotian's lack of respect for yu wenzhou in prequel vs the way he fears respects blue rain's captain in the novel

and the few moments we get when we see han wenqing without zhang xinjie and what a difference that made

and

so many other things

haven't even mentioned fsq

fsq is practically an empty space beside wjx in the novel why did he have to retire couldn't he come back like zjl

lol (i might have mixed up the fangs... - -;;;)

i just feel nostalgic and sad sometimes and i remember not being able to read the prequel immediately after the novel

because the novel gave me post novel depression

and reading the prequel and knowing wei chen is gonna be there and he's gonna be worrying when he's 23 (okay i might have read one or two chapters then got scarred because i was afraid i'd break down lol)

BLOOD  VESSEL

The creators of Dracula and Sherlock (BBC) love to play with the double meaning of words. The term ‘vessel’ is just another example among many more for this preference. A vessel can be two things:

a ship of any kind … for cargo, fishing, sailing, supply, naval ...

a container to hold liquid of any kind … bowls, pots, bottles but also arteries and veins and even people who have particular qualities

In Dracula BBC blood is the medium that carries the informations, the memories, the knowledge, the data. Blood is testimony!

What does the title of the second episode of Dracula BBC - Blood Vessel - mean? Does it simply refer to a ship on which a couple of bloody murders occur because one of the passengers happens to be a vampire? Or does it refert to the role this ship plays as a container, that carries a range of different informations inside the bloodline of each passenger? From the East into the ‘new world’? From the past into the present? From Agatha to Zoe? From A to Z?

Characters might be ‘absorbed’ ... mirrors might be broken ... the ship doesn’t reach the shore of the Queen’s country … it burns befor it can reach a harbour. But Count Dracula nonetheless walks onto the shore. Late. After 123 years under water.

And the Count carries inside his blood all the informations, the data of every single one of the broken mirrors.
