Don’t worry guys, I got us covered 💪
Okay so I noticed in the flashbacks that the park equipment next to the Matthews house was rusted, but it was in good condition in the flashback and I was wandering why some things weren't more decayed or weathered.
I think every time Jade and Tabitha reincarnate not only does the cycle begin again, I think the town changes and adapts to be more aligned with what's 'modern' in the real world. I saw in some theory video that mentioned that Diners were popular in the 40s-50's, which was around the time Miranda would have been born. Except it didn't this time, because not everyone died, Victor survived, so the cycle couldn't completely reset, so the town looks the same. I think, originally, however many cycles ago the motel pool was an actual pool or pond, and it's the lake of tears

So, people are worried about the tree being uprooted, and I'm going to talk a little bit about why I am also worried. Ever since it was revealed that the children poured their hopes into the roots of the tree after being told a story and presumably before being sacrificed, I have felt it played a major role into the storybook aspect of this show which has been present since s1. I think it is the reason Jade and Tabitha can reincarnate. The children probably thought about the story they were told and willed it into existence that the "heroes", their parents- Would be able to come back to save them. Obviously Jade and Tabitha loved them a lot and want to come back to save them so it is their wants that cooperate with that to make it a reality too, I'm sure. (The tree also makes me think about the Family Tree, there are so many themes on family in this show. If the hope put into this tree is fueled in part by the love from their parents, then the tree representing a sort of family tree with the reincarnation cycles and the way it seems every reincarnation of Tabitha has been a mother would make a lot of sense. That means if that bottle tree is meant to represent a family tree, then tearing down the tree would literally be ending the family tree of their child.) Anyways, if it is their hopes that live in the roots of those trees, and if those hopes are what helped create the reincarnation cycle, tearing down the tree could end the reincarnation cycle.
i think Boyd will come around to Jade's plan and ignore the visions which are meant to be a warning about Henry after considering what ghost Khatri said. The BiW told Victor that he shouldn't cut the tree down. I think potentially Victor will learn of what's happening but he will not be able to tell them before it's too late- Why? Something will happen between him and Henry that interrupts him. (I actually don't know which bottle tree it was that Victor was told not to cut down though- There are two of them. If it wasn't the one under the tunnels then... there's an offchance it might not be as bad as it seems..?) If it does play out this way, that means that the stakes will be higher than ever before because if it really does break the reincarnation cycle, meaning Jade and Tabitha are the final ones, this is the last chance anyone has to free the children and all the souls trapped here. Idk though!!
‼️‼️POTENTIAL MAJOR SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4 OF "FROM"‼️‼️
(And actual spoilers for S4 Ep1)
Kenny's gonna fucking die.
One of the first scenes in the episode really drove this home for me- Boyd in the Sherrif's Station, pulling out a box of bullets so people have the option of a swift death. He says to Kenny's face it's better to swallow a bullet than get ripped apart by the creatures, after being forced to watch Tian Chen be tortured to death by them.
I've been hoping that Kenny gets some sort of arc where he's being manipulated or having visions or something of the like, as he's like the only main character other than Donna and Ellis that hasn't been personally targeted by whatever entity is causing all this paranoia. He's always been the level-headed, rational, 'let's fucking think this through' person, and is one of the last remaining supports Boyd has before he completely gives in to his despair.
Boyd trusts him thoroughly and has continued to emphasize that the burden of being his successor is all on Kenny's shoulders. But Boyd is so broken up about Tian Chen's death that he really doesn't seem to consider her son, who is putting aside his own grief to be there for both Boyd and the residents of the town.
I am getting the feeling that his parents' deaths was meticulously planned to put Kenny in a vulnerable spot. The creatures have demonstrated that they don't always kill their victims, and they (and the Man in Yellow, by extension) seem to have a pretty good understanding of the dynamics at play between the townspeople, and they know the best way to really, truly break Boyd would not be hurting him but to hurt the people he loves.
This whole episode feels like it's foreshadowing Kenny's death being the final straw that breaks Boyd's spirit, likely in a situation where Boyd has a bullet in the barrel and the opportunity to do for Kenny what he couldn't for Tian Chen, giving him a quick death while also rehashing the pain of shooting his wife all those years ago.
In the next episode, Kenny's going to wake up and see the staged scene of a 'young girl' who just 'lost' her father and empathize with her over this. It's all deliberate. The Man in Yellow (in the form of Sophia) getting into Kenny's head, encouraging him to let his guard down and be the gentle, kind person he was around Kristi and his parents, will ultimately be what kills him.
Knowing this show and the writers... I'd be surprised if some version of this doesn't happen, as much as I adore Kenny and want him to live a long and happy life :((
Man in yellow isn't the only monster who hides himself amongst the townsfolk!
Ok, so this might be an overstatement and might be actually explained with a simple 'they accidentally had too much extras in this scene' but still... They did tell us the exact number of people that are in the town two episodes ago so it feels kinda weird for them to not follow that count so early on.
Anyway this is Jims funeral
Notice anything?
No? Don't worry I didn't either.
But then I thought ‘ha, seems like the whole town came to this thing, wonder how many of those 47 people actually showed up' and so I started counting.
It took me several recounts because I messed up in a lot of them. So to spare you from the same fate i made these:
44 out of 47 people thats not bad.
That means only three people out of the whole town aren't there. Or does it?
Lets focus on our favorite fromvile residents, from the start we have:
Boys (1), Dona (2), The Matthews family (17, 18, 19) Fatima (20), Elis (21), Henry (25), Viktor (26), Kristi (32), Marielle (33), Randall (34), Bakta (41) and Kenny (43)
+ Man in yellow (42)
From that we can deduce who wasn't there.
First we can cross out Jade he did tell Boyd he won't come and stuck to his word, next is Acosta who from the lack of superblonde hair on the photo, if you don't count Marielles, we can surely say is still stuck in that cell.
So that now leaves only one person who wasn't present. Except there are still atleast two characters that weren't there.
You see Elgin has this really easy identifier right on his face (that being the bandage) that none of the people on the photo seem to spot. From that we can tell he wasn't present for the funeral as well.
Now since we talked about Elgins bandage what about the reason why he has to wear it, where is she?
You see at first I actually assumed that Sara was one of those white ladies since at least one of them does wear clothes that are kinda similiar to what Sara tends to wear. But then i got the idea to check what she wears in the episode again and...
(I wanted to put picture here but for some reason it wouldn't let me save this after that and I lost most of the writing of this post so I guess you will have to search for her yourself)
Yeah it doesn't seem like she was at that funeral either.
But that means there must be at least 48 people (47 and man in yellow) in town. So that means either a.) there are more monsters hiding in the plain sight than we thought, b.) some people arrived into town between Tillis death and the funeral and nobody noticed or c.) Kenny can't fucking count.
FROM S4E5 SPOILERS!!!!!!
so we know now that when the town finds out about jaditha being the ones having to save the children they’ll hate them and eventually kill them. and we know from the ep7 synopsis that their “dark past surfaces”. who do we thinks gonna be the one to expose it to the whole town? sophias the obvious answer but do we think there rly could be a mole who exposes this
so consider the idea that fromville is a prison-- i think its kimono lady VS the man in yellow personally
The original sacrifice of all those children gave the power for the spell to be cast.
The monsters are there killing people and making them suffer to keep giving it power. Its a recharge.
Things are changing because people have stopped dying as frequently. The prison is going a bit wobbly around the edges.
Which would mean that the man in yellow is the one who planted the talismans and why it was so important kimono lady bring smiley back.
That doesnt explain why he went after Jim unless he was doing it to get to someone he -for whatever reason - cant touch. Julie was right there - not present Julie but future Julie who may have more answers and been more of a problem
But if Ethan was right and a story walker has some manner of protection then MiY had to go after someone close to her.
Her mom is Miranda is someone connected to the original prison so shes safe. Ethan is protected by *something*.
Jim though. Jim is a spare tire.
