I'm the youngest of two! So sorta counts. I have one older sister. Mom has told me many times that the reason our family was peaceful was because my sister, not me, was the elder one.
Across my larger family, I am also the youngest in my generation. Granted, I only have three cousins, so there wasn't much competition.
Second time to get these questions for this song (first one here), and I am ELATED because this means I can pick different answers, yay.
4. What’s your favorite lyrical part of the song?
‘Cos I’m between that just one more and drank too much again
And I promise you I’ll write I love you
With my fingers on your sleeping hand
And when that fox howls I’ll howl with it
In it’s cries I’ll find an end
And when I think I’m fine you’ll visit
And then you happen to me, you happen to me all over again
That last line in particular is a stab in the gut.
8. Do you visualize any colors, images, or scenes when listening to this song?
Ever since I saw this breathtaking art by @groovyleviathan, I've never been able to hear the song without thinking of it. Take a good long look at that masterpiece, take in all the details you might miss at first glance, then come cry about it with me.
J - Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr
Supernatural
pretty self explanatory
I - Has tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why
Voltron mainly. ML on instagram is pretty wild too. I tend to drift in and out
M - Say something genuinely nice about a ship that you don’t ship (or its shippers, or anything related to you)
Stricklake shippers are super talented. Especially the artists out there! I come across with amazing artwork of theirs that completely blows my mind with how talented they are
what's the difference between a knife and a dagger?
In really really short, a dagger’s blade is symmetrical and sharpened on both edges and usually and a knife’s blade is assymetrical and sharpened on only one side.
The usual long crap is under the cut as an optional read:
Take all of the following with a grain of salt, i’m not an expert. I’m just selling the stuff not making it or studying it academically. Shame.. it would be soo much more fun then my current major.. anyway. This is mostly the knowledge that got stuck on me over the years being enthusiastic but knowing jackshit and of course mostly the past few, working at the shop.
For the sake of really trying hard not to be too long, i’m over simplifying. I failed on the lenght. It isn’t really short. Sorry. 🤦
So example images:
Dagger:
Knife:
As of now history states that knifes were the earliest weapons because the oldest one found dates waaay back before the earliest dagger found. I’m not going into it, because i’m going to end up with an essay.. Also i’m kind of should be working but writing about bladed things are way more interesting and i can fake it as office work. Soo 🤫 Don’t tell my colleague (who is going to read this anyway because we be mutuals) that i’m fakeing work for the sake of talking about sharp and pointy things.
But back to daggers and knives:
In aesthetics and funcionality, daggers usually (but not exclusively) are lighter and thinner than knives. The blades overall look much more sleek. Also because of the double edge, they resemble more to swords. Also daggers were designed to be as a weapon in the first place.
Now knives were designed to be a tool first and foremost. I mean you can switch it up and use one insted of the other but for kitchen/hunting/survival purposes a knife will be more reliable also much more sturdy. And you most certainly going to stab someone easier with a dagger.
Altho knives can be sharpened on the other side as well for functionality. Like the image above is more of a hunting knife. The last quarter of the blade is sharpened on both sides as well so let say skinning an animal is way easier this way. The stabbing part is easier, that is. And the blade itself is thicker so it isn’t going to break on bones or wood or anything you might need to go for while using a knife outdoors.
With a dagger, you can do these things too but it’s going to be a bit harder. Thinner blades are usually more fragile or easier to warp. But if you want to stab someone, it is going to be easier with a sharper and thinner blade, because less friction.
So this is a kind of semi-short and very simple differentiation but there is so so much more to it.
Like there are specifically designes knifes and daggers.
For example the kukri’s are extremely versatile not just in combat but mostly on the terrain. They are effective as a machete as well. These blades are thick let me tell you.
Kukri:
And then there are the specialized daggers as well. Like parrying daggers as a companion weapon for a rapier. And then there are ceremonial daggers that are not really used for anything but to be pretty.
And there a things like stilettos. Okay arguably stilettos could be a completely different cathegory because they are the ultimate stabby stabby pointy stick. But yeah there are really thin and narrow bladed, double edged stilettos, that are technically more like a dagger. Also stilettos usually have a narrow crossguard or next to nothing crossguard at all. But daggers can have small crossguards as well so yeah. Also stilettos can have like triple edge blades as well or not edged at all only sharpened at the tip. Stilettos are usually shorter than daggers, more easily concealed. You know, assassin-y weapons for the stab-stab.
Also there is the thing with the knives and dagger designes specifically for military and tactical purposes in mind, like versatile survival knives with build in flints and bonesaws and stuff. Also daggers designed with saw like edge parts to do sgnificantly more or even irreparable damage to hurt the opponent.
Oh and throwing daggers and throwing knifes are an entirely different beast as well.
So yeah there are like many many things in this topic and i can’t really do justice to it at the moment. But maybe one day i will geather all my knowledge and use proper references and stuff and write and actual essay about it.
I really really hope i answered your question and i wasn’t too boring.
Trollhunters, 3below or Wizards?
Really hard choice! They’re all great on their own, but I think I’m leaning towards Trollhunters with Wizards as a very close second.
Fave Protagonist?
They’re all my children 🥺🥺🥺 you can’t make me choose. Right now Its obviously Douxie but some days it’s Jim, sometimes Aja, and sometimes Krel.
Fave Brotp?
A tie between Jim and Aja and Douxie and Claire. Both were super unexpected and they have such great dynamics.
Favorite Side character?
SHANNON I LOV HER. AND ZADRA. I want her to step on me 😍
Which would you be: Troll, alien/akiridion, wizard?
As much as I love magic, not sure if I want immortality. I want to be an Akiridion, I dig the 4 arms.
Favorite quote?
THE DESTINY SPEECH. If Trollhunters came out just a few months earlier, I would’ve made it my senior quote
Most Relatable Character?
As much as I relate to Douxie, Jim has been the most relatable to me. I connect so much to his anxiety and how he handles problems, just wanting the best for everyone, feeling like he has to do things alone.
