Personally, I see how you think it could be a little weird. I know for me, bringing on a new character is a lot more interesting with all the new plots and all the new ideas I could explore with her. It’s hard to do that without starting over. frwinnie replied to your post:

She was the first real person he had a fear of. He used to be afraid of the Boogie Monster and sharks… Until he met Winnie Elliott.

A smile danced across Avery's lips as she smiled back at one of her closest friends. Hell, Winnie had almost lost Jackson completely, which was incomparable to some breakup. "I know," Aves replied, taking one of the brunette's hands in hers. "You're not either, okay? I don't really know what's going on with how Jackson's doing or what you've been up to since we got back to our school, but I'm always here. Reasons why when you go down for your next big prank, I'll probably be going down with you." The girl scrunched her nose slightly, dropping her hand back to her side. "And I'm alright, I promise. I'm also done with my incredibly cheesy moment, so let's talk blood and guts or something."
