This may be a farfetched thought, but from the panels from chapter 453 suggest that Wendy may protect Erza in some way.

Remember in chapter 453, Gray says he has an ace in the hole to defeat E.N.D. What if Gray uses some secret spell (like Natsu’s flames from Igneel) that is powerful enough to defeat E.N.D? That could be Gray’s “Trump Card” to kill E.N.D.

Lucy(and me):Stop!It's called waving death flags!

Natsu: Igneel taught me to think of da future so that it becomes my will to live!*cool grin*

Lucy:*smiles back with trust*

Happy:It's a promise!*cue the angst filled moment*
