HELLO!” IN HINDSIGHT, AYLIN PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE TEXTED before she headed up the stairs to noah’s dorm room, but she considered it to be a sort of emergency and well, noah was her roommate last year so she’s used to just rolling over in bed when she needs to ask her best friend a question. however, it is not noah at the door. “ are you...mari ? ” she asks with a furrowed brow. unless bash or gabe has a guest, it’s a pretty solid guess. “ i’m aylin, noah’s friend. is she here ? ” if not, maybe mari can help her instead.

– SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE’S DOING, AT LEAST. and that’s half the battle ! or, the battle he’d like to win, personally. so, he sucks in a breath and steps out in front of her, “ hey ! ” he interjects, maybe more loudly than he should, “ hi, hello, sorry – you just...you look like you know where you’re going. and i really DON’T, so...i was hoping i could bother you for a second ? ”

– “OH, HEY,” CLAIRE LOOKS UP AFTER CHANGING, gathering her things in the locker room after a shower. she’s exhausted from her workout and hasn’t been paying the closest attention to her surroundings, so she almost didn’t notice mari there until she’s preparing to leave. “ shit, i don’t think i saw you all summer, ” she notes, not that claire ever really goes out of her way to reach out, “ how’ve you been ? ”

– CAN YOU BLAME HIM FOR THE FACT THAT MARI IS THE LAST PERSON IN THE WORLD HE WANTS TO SEE? he wishes her words didn’t affect him so much, although maybe they should – because they’re all he can think about: emotionally stunted. maybe jas cleared it up a little, but it’s hard for him not to worry that’s what she secretly thinks of him, or WORSE – that it’s just true, whether she thinks it or not. so, usually the idea of hanging out in the kitchen with mari is easy, something he’d do naturally on a regular basis, but today it makes him feel uncomfortable, and he thinks maybe it would be easier to drop out of school entirely than have this conversation that she’s asking for !
“ hey, ” he greets, and he wishes his voice didn’t come out so fucking soft. he slides into one of the seats at the table. “ what’re you making ? ”

– RICKY IS TRYING TO BE GOOD TONIGHT. after all, a challenge based around meeting new people and remembering facts about them tests him more than most, he’s actually...sort of sober tonight. the smallest ode of an effort to gallagher academy, gilly would be proud. though he’s talked to so many people tonight his head is starting to spin. “ hey, ” he sidesteps into a conversation with a girl that’s way too gorgeous for him to do so, but he makes the attempt anyway, “ do you happen to have a megaphone lying around ? the kind a person might use for a big last-ditch attempt before he gives it all up and starts taking shots. ”

I feel like shortly after joining the Boxing Club, Reina was insistent on sparring with Nate just to see if she would last long, she did grow up taking self defense/martial arts/fighting classes but she had never gone up against a giant. A 6'5" man against a 5'1" woman, did she think she'd win absolutely not but that didn't stop her from wanting to try.
