Ahahahahahahahaha, I just got an email from the government saying that my student loans have been forgiven

I haven’t paid that shit since 2009

✨Student Loan Horror Story✨

I enrolled in art school in 2004. I took out 2 loans: a $25k for sally Mae, and $10k from the state. When I graduated in 2007, my mom offered to help pay of the state loan, and I took full responsibility for SM. Fast forward to 2009. I decided I want to go back to school for practical effects (my dream job), so I started saving up money for a 2 year program.

Out of nowhere, I got a phone call about my state loan. Apparently, all the money we were paying was going only to the interest, and not the loan itself, and because of that, my debt skyrocketed to $42k. Off a $10k loan. My credit tanked. I was in the bottom 8% of worst credit in the country. I lost chance to go back to school, and I was super lucky I had just bought my carbefore then (it was my first car I bought all by myself).

It took me years to build me credit back up.

So yeah, I stopped paying. If they didn’t take payment seriously, I sure as hell wasn’t going to. Yes, it did keep my credit down at “fair,” but you can still do a lot of things with fair credit. And my credit already got a boost when COVID paused loan payments.

In other news I decided to throw the new star wars trilogy in the garbage where it belongs.

You ever just get that feeling where...

...where you just feel like you’re wasting your time? You’re stuck in the past, in your head, while everyone evolves, and new things come out but you’re just not quite as interested in those new things but everyone around you is interested in them so you feel as though you must be in touch with everyone else by getting interested in these new things despite them not interesting you.

Then you feel like you’re wasting your time, and you’re living lies because what interests you is not interesting to everyone else and you’re outdated and you don’t want to be outdated because being outdated in your interests often means being forgotten, and if you’re forgotten no one will remember you, meaning you have no essential reason to care about anything because you’re forgotten and don’t feel what everyone feels.

And I’m not even old, I’m quite young... Isn’t this something more older people feel? Not less-than-20-year-olds? sigh
