Hello~ I've been trying to study Korean for some months now, and your blog is very helpful! Something I noticed is that sites will always teach the way to say "thank you", but I've never seen an example for "you're welcome". Is there a way to say this in Korean? Thanks in advance!
There is no literal translation for “You’re welcome” in Korean, but there are some common responses that I can share. Because humility is a big part of the culture, the responses are usually a dismissal of hard work in an attempt to humble themselves. 천만해요 (Chonmanheyo) is commonly taught as a response, but it is outdated in common speech and is only used in very formal situations. 아닙니다 (Anibnida) and 아니에요 (Annieyo) are more common, and both mean something along the lines of “No problem” or “Don’t mention it”. You could even just respond with 괜찮아 (Gwenchana) as an “It’s fine” between friends.
