last 10 first lines meme

Rules: post the first lines of your last 10 fics/chapters posted on AO3 (if you have less than 10 fics posted, post the first lines of all your fics) and try to draw some conclusions.

By the Book: Eddie checked his watch against the dash clock in his van. 

Paper Wings: A faint sheen of sweat prickled across Molly’s forehead as she reached for her knife and slid it across the taped seam of another box. 

'86 Baby: Eddie groaned as he turned off the water in Eden’s small bathroom and reached for the towel rack. 

Then It's One More Sleep: “Nope,” Chrissy shook her head firmly, dislodging a piece of her hair from her braid.

And the Devil Makes Three: The moon hung low, nestled among the trees.

begin, slowly, to read the whole story: It was an accident.

One Hundred and Fifty-Two: Chrissy had always had girlfriends. 

You drew stars around my scars: Dustin was first out of the truck the morning Eddie pulled up to the building that was about to be the new home of Hellfire Ink. 

The Love Doctor: Eddie didn’t look so good.

Red Light, Green Light: There’s definitely something wrong with her.

Conclusions: This is always a fun little exercise because I tend to think one way about my writing style and then realize it's totally different. This time, for instance, I would have said that I tend to start with dialogue because I think it's my strongest suit when it comes to writing. But the evidence certainly suggests otherwise. :)
