hey jes wade is running an itch bundle raising funds for raices--an organization with which i have personal positive experience doing boots on the ground work--and the idlc--an org i have heard nothing but good things about--to support their legal efforts against ICE and bail funds for protestors. they're good causes to support no matter what but also you get a ton of rly good video games and ttrpgs like hyper gunsport, FIST, and the electric zinemaker. when you support a bundle like this on itch you get keys for the games and drm-free pdfs for the other digital content which makes passing on the stuff you don't want extremely easy. it's kind've a no brainer if you've got ten bucks or local equivalent to spare

GAMER ALERT: one of our own needs help, y’all.

Hey guys. I know you've been seeing a lot of fundraising posts from me as of late but this one is a family thing... kind of.

See, my sister Ashley got into watching a few streamers (RIGHT as I went on hiatus from Cat-Thulu, of course), who mainly play Fortnite. One of them is not doing so hot.

tarrnation21 is having a rough, rough time right now. His 5-month-old son  has been hospitalized for three weeks as of the date of this post.  At one point he stopped breathing.

His water is going to get shut off tomorrow unless he can come up with some money. Naturally, he's with his son, so he hasn't been able to work much. However, he has a wife and five other children (some are stepkids but that doesn't matter - he loves them all the same). They need water to drink, bathe, cook with, etc. They need electricity, their phones, their home.

And right now he can't provide any of it, because his son is deathly ill and he’s by his side..

In the first two years of this annual campaign, the fandom raised $3,031 for Christopher’s Haven, and had 71 donors pledge to donate blood through the American Red Cross.  This was done as the fandom’s birthday gift to him.

And we’re doing it again this year, and aiming to make it even better!

Study in London! 2014

Hey guys! As you can see by the link above, I'm going to be studying abroad next semester and I'm trying to raise funds to make this happen. I could really use any support-- whether it be monetary or simply getting the word around-- so I hope if you see this, you'll reblog it along.

My applications for scholarships and grants through both the program and my home college were all denied and almost all of my funding is coming from federal loans at the moment. Loans are scary, tricky things, especially as my family is going through a little bit of a financial upheaval with new, lesser-paying jobs. So, this is my chance to do what I can to lessen the burden for my family. Where I failed to earn the scholarships I had set out for, I hope that by working on this Gofundme page I will be able to make at least a dent in the $10,000 we still need.

This is an opportunity I do not want to miss-- and one, honestly, that my parents would not allow me to miss-- which is why I so desperately hope I can help this way.  This trip isn't just about academics, or the excitement of travel, the possibilities for my thesis, or any of that. This semester abroad is also the damned scariest thing I have ever elected to do. It is my way of facing my anxiety disorder and some of my anxiety-inducers and moving forward as a person.

So I only hope I can go without the anxiety and guilt of loans and unpaid tuition bills hanging over our heads. Any support will be so appreciated, as we have a large bill due to the university on December 12th. Please feel free to send me questions you might have :)
