i like to think cas shows up so fast because he’s always nearby, keeping an eye on sam and dean. he heard “watch out for your friends” and decided that meant “watch them constantly.” he’s trying his best 😭💙

You were cuddled up beside Cas on the couch with a crackling fire giving the room a warm, cozy glow. He had his arm draped around you and you were leaned against him and feeling perfectly content.

You sighed and Cas looked down at you and gave you a fond smile.

"We should get a pet," you said suddenly.

Cas chuckled smiled to himself. "We should?"

You straightened up and turned to look at him. "Yes! Doesn't that sound nice? A sweet little creature for us to take care of together?"

He looked at the light shining in your eyes and the warm and open look on your face. He still couldn't believe that he got to have you in this way in his life. It made all the fighting, all the fear worth it. "It does sound nice," he agreed, his hand landing lightly on the small of your back.

You grinned.

There was a sudden loud noise and distinctly British swearing from the other room. You both turned to look and saw that Crowley had dropped a heavy book and was having a difficult time picking it up again with his wrists in the demon cuffs. "Crowley doesn't count?" Cas said dryly.

You let out a light laugh and leaned against Cas again. "That's a fair point," you said. "But I was thinking more like a kitten or two that need a home. They'd also help with the mice problem in the storage rooms."

Cas nodded, tugging you in against him more tightly. "It sounds very nice. I like building a life with you," Cas said thoughtfully, his hand settling on your hip.

You snuggled in against him and smiled contentedly. "Me too."
