Once, when I worked in a grocery store, a little old man waddled up to me with a rolled-up piece of newspaper. He handed it to me, grinning, and delightedly announced, “Taco!” I opened up the newspaper while he eagerly watched, and inside was a single piece of lettuce. He then giggled and ran off.
I love that man.
the boy in the law library
i was walking in an unfamiliar part of campus today, and saw the boy i met last friday. well, i didn't really meet him; he helped me find a book. i didn't recognize him, but i smiled back just to be nice, but i probably looked confused. i work at the law library, he said immediately, and i said, yes, yes, yes, you do.
he had a cute smile. he also remembered me. i know the law library probably doesn't get as much traffic, but still... it just made my day all that much better.
take it easy now, stranger.
