if you speak a indigenous or lesser-known language/dialect, what's some strange phrases/idoms? How does it compare to other more common world languages?
I was just thinking about the French expression "je vais péter un câble" (I'm going to fart a cable) = "I'm going to lose it/go crazy" which is just... why is THAT what they came up with?
similar expressions like "Het regent pijpestelen" in Flemish which means "its raining pipehandles" (a bit more random than French "il pleut des cordes"/"il/ça drache" or English's "raining cats and dogs"), other languages are a bit less strange but still ("paraqonchuy" is the Quechua version of that expression I think, and "hujannya sangat lebat" in Indonesian which as far as I can tell dosen't have an idom) I could go on for all my languages but that might bore y'all
anyways tell me your stupid stuff I want to know more idoms....
