Happy birthday, Skyrim!❄

Well, since three years,when I started play in Skyrim, I start draw (and write) stories, with two Dovakhiins: Kaerdaeryn, dunmer, warrior and werewolf, and Olana, nord girl, vampire and frost mage. From enemies to... friends? companions?

Skyrim shouts are quite loud

There’s no explanation as to why it’s taken four years, or why Dungeons & Dragons Club was put on hiatus to figure it out, but Kotaku have a splendid “And finally…” news story concerning Skyrim, and its famous “Fus-ro-dah!” dragon shout. Some students at Leicester University have worked out that to carry across the game’s 40km² map to the ears of nearby dragons, a well projected Thu'um from a Dovahkiin would have to be around 1048dB, killing not only the brave Dovahkiin, but everyone else in the near radius. 

Imagine that intro at the Mandella Bar: “Hey, blue eyes. Did you know that a Thu'um from a Dovahkiin in Skyrim would have to be around 1048dB, killing the Dragonborne and everyone else around him? Myself, Tarquin and Benedict worked it out. Wait! Come back! Have I shown you my Cloud Strife tattoo? But it’s the Shinra Electric Power Company infantryman variant! Fucking feminists.”

Read the paper here, while maybe listening to a funeral dirge and raising a glass to these chaps’ DNA.
