sins of the father!!! all your snippets have been so intriguing

helloo, thank you so much for the ask <3

sins of the father is a lawlight longfic im working on and, as the name so unsubtly suggests, it's a fic that involves light and soichiro's nuanced dynamic

it's kind of... a very long character study on generational trauma, and soichiro's authoritarian parenting (i love writing bad parent soichiro im sorry) shaping light's internal framework for what he believes love/care is, and then how that spirals into his dynamic with L down the line. there is also a lot of religious references, and i would consider it among one of the less cutesy things i write :(

light, as he does in canon, does NOT confront those emotions lol and he has to deal with either healing and breaking the cycle (by confronting all of this) or becoming another soichiro ... its probably one of my favourite things i'll ever write ngl! i plan for it to be ~100k and i'm currently at 30k after a month (slow pace for me, unfortunately) but now that my exams are over, i can write more—i hope it's done soon!

The months slide through his fingers like egg white and Light is left holding the yolk, ox-stubborn shoulders hunched. L sits golden in his fingers and lays along his back and Light stabs him. Atrium and ventricle embrace his fork. He blinks. He has autopsied his cake. The top layer sprawls dead across his plate. His tongue wets his lips. L crawls into his mouth and down his throat one bite at a time, sweet and frosting-thick. He licks his weapon clean. He ducks his shoulders back under the yolk and heaves it up. He drags the body with him.

also i read ‘internet exposé’ last night and i was cackling in bed. it’s so good. i was DEEPLY obsessed with the dsmp in 2020 (now immediately forget i told you that. do not internalize it into your perception of me) so it was kinda the perfect fic for me. they’re both such losers in that i love it

LMFAO OH NOOO not that trainwreck of a fic... sometimes i forget the repercussions of having that up on my ao3 and associated with me (nobody will think i am nonchalant)

i was... also... extremely obsessed with dsmp in 2020. im about to perform a public humiliation ritual and admit i was writing dreamnotfound and georgebur fanfictions (of course now i hate those 3) (also what? you, dsmp? how ridiculous! that never happened. internalise what? what were we talking about?)

they are such losers, my friend read it and his complaint was "why the HELL IS L SO LAME? and why did light STILL want to get cracked after getting his ass beat?" so i think their respective loserness came across well! HAHAH

okay i want to ask you about every one of your wips but for the sake of the tag game… i will simply say i am desperately curious about “black blue magic” bc i saw from one of your other posts that it’s a sequel to “hard as your can (and harder, and harder)” and i’m so obsessed with that fic. please share anything you can <3

3. what's something you like about your writing?

i like the way i write different characters' povs. i think im good at adapting my style to each character, especially in moonshot

5. is there a certain kind of fic that feels the most satisfying to finish? any reason why?

ooo probably when i can end a smut fic with some sort of mishap or mess, such as a glass of water falling over or L smearing cum in light's hair. it's a really good trick because it conclusively ends the smut and you get one last bit of character development in by showing how they react to it

"Ford gets you going?" I ask, and his shoulders rise and tense. I know he's recognised the expression. I also know he'll pretend not to. He's better at hearing English than speaking it. "Okay, let's get going," he says, with an attempt at a smile. I put my hand on his thigh as he signals to change lanes.

yesss its more tmt! matsuda open carries while grocery shopping. unfortunately i dislike every word of it so i will be rewriting before it sees the light of day
