World of Beer and Wild Salsa came to win the damn thing! Seriously, that smoky pulled pork was phenomenal.
I was in a rush to convene the judging panel and neglected to get a non-bitten photo of this birria taco from Bad Azz Burrito. All the judges had it in the top few, and was the only one we could all agree deserved the title. Congrats, Bad Azz Burrito!
I neglected to take a picture of the taco from Del Norte but honestly it was the same as last time I posted. Great taco, but playing it a bit too safe.
I wasn't super impressed with the trompo from El Patron but I bet it's better outside of the rapid-fire taco fest environment.
Dayne's Craft Barbecue brought one of the more interesting tacos of the day. The meat has a good crunchy crispy texture that stood out from the crowd.
Sorry, World of Beer. Two swings and two misses. They're not bad but they're not good enough to compete at this level. The aioli may as well have been mayo.
Abe Fromans made my favorite taco of the day. The picked veg and pineapple added just the right sweetness and tangy kick to balance the braised pork. And apparently this dude cooked the meat in a pizza oven!
