fxtidsanctuary liked for a starter!
Manuke was not one for conflict -- to any extent, really. Not that he was some kind of pacifist, he just hated his peace being disturbed.
But with this person here? Peace was the last thing he could be sure of.
“Well, now. The lady Hakurei, as I live an’ breathe.” The bake-danuki quirked a brow at the sight of the red and white garbs below, idly scratching at his middle. “And just what, ah... What would bring you to this neck of the woods, I wonder?”
fxtidsanctuary replied to your post:I’d sure love if this rain could stop now.
(You got rain too, huh?)
It feels like it hasn’t stopped in weeks. Any sunshine is rather short lived.
3, 5, 7, 9, 14 for Junko
Character Development Questions
3. Does your muse focus mainly on one long term goal or multiple short term ones? What do they think about the reachability of their goals and what are they?
While there are other goals on the side, the biggest thing to her is getting revenge on Chang`e and avenging her son. It doesn’t matter to her how long it’ll take or what she has to do, but she swore to heave and hell back that it would be done.
5. Does your muse have any irrational fears that hold them back in life? Do they come from experience (trauma) or is it, for instance, part of a belief system they have?
Any fears the spirit has is definitely trauma driven at this point. She has major trust issues as is. In the case of friendship, Junko can be very clingy but also very standoffish depending on her mood or mental state. If she ever gets into a serious relationship again, it’ll become much more apparent; abuse and abandonment playing a large part in it.Another big thing is children. As much as she longs to resume her role as a mother and despite knowing no one could replace her first-born son, she also fears the possibility of having another piece of her joy taken from her. While interacting with children doesn’t normally spark a reaction, she can only take it to a point before those memories creep up on her and cause her to lose her cool.Junko also fears of harming others and/or losing people. This gives another reason to why she doesn’t have many people to call close. Her mental stability and mood swings can easily send her into a rage, and during these moments she doesn’t have much control of herself. She’s prone to being very violent during these outbursts, whether it’s to others, objects, or even herself. It scares her at times to think that someone would try to help her, only to end up injured or even dead by her hands, and knowing she doesn’t have control doesn’t ease the pain. She’s already lost too much as is, and if something else she held dear in life got taken from her, no matter the circumstances, it would break her.
7. What does your muse get out of relationships (be it friends, family or a significant other)? Do they find it energizing or exhausting to keep up with?
With the few relationships she does have, the biggest thing she gets from it is the healing of her heart. The patience and love from those close to her is slowly helping her to pick up the pieces and move on.While it’s a positive thing for many reasons, it also has a negative aspect on her. Opening herself up to others is leaving her vulnerable to being damaged again, and if something does happen to break her again, there’s no telling what could happen or if she could ever recover a second time.
9. What does your muse think of time/aging? Does getting older scare them? (Alternatively, for immortal muses: How does their immortality effect their relationships with mortals?)
Junko had become a literal embodiment of her own grudge, and as long as the target of her aggression and pain still exists and her duty undone, she will continue to exist in a state of semi-immortality.Age is really just a number to her, but as the years go by she does feel the effects like most do. The only thing that bugs her about getting older is the fact she doesn’t technically change, but those around her do. If someone close to her died of old age or something in relation to that, even though it’s a natural occurrence it would still hurt her in some way, and knowing that even if she was able to finally be at peace, there was no way she’d be able to see them again.
14. Do they take control or give control or do they believe in sharing power? What are their thoughts on control versus submission (either sexually or in relationships in general)? What do they think of authority?
In the case of battle, she’s willing to share power (in the case of her fight with Hecatia), but under no circumstances will she completely give her power away to another. Before her transformation she was a submissive sort or person, but what it got her was only temporary happiness before it was all ripped away. Living life under another’s rule and control is only asking for heartache, and it was then she realized the gravity of personal freedom. As for authority, it’s a bit iffy, though she has a negative view on it. Being that she used to be royalty, she was in a position to do things others couldn’t by default, but at the same time she was subjected to cruel orders by not only others of higher status, but even her own husband. While it’s good to have some sort of command chain in order, the abuse of power from authority is too frequent, and that caused her disdain for it.

I do, even if we’ve only interacted a little so far! I’m sorry for the wait with our thread. D:
// Thank you. Both of you, I appreciate it.

“I have had poor sight for far away things ever since I was a boy, and many of the other children often called me kusomegane–er, a very rude name for someone who wears glasses.” His forehead creased in a frown. “Children can be cruel.”

Past experiences help shape who we are currently, how we see the world. Send in a symbol and I’ll write a drabble of one of my muse’s memories.
♣ - a fading memory
There it was again, that familiar yet distant memory. A happier time in life for the ODST. Long before the war with the Covenant began. He fuzzily remembered waking up with the sun on his face. The fresh smell of the nearby river and the small trickle of the a stream he was camped next to. He vaguely remembered smelling bacon as he woke. Sleepily getting out of the comfort of his sleeping bag the young Lucas tripped over his own small boots as he moved to the front of the tent.
He vaguely remembered coming out of that tent to be greeted by the sight of his grandfather. As tall as a mountain and as strong as a bear. He fought to clearly remember the smile on his grandfather’s face. His words to him about ‘always waking up to the smell of bacon, like your dad had when he was your age’ dimly echoed as if though his very voice was fading away. The rest of that morning blurred together. The only other thing Lucas could clearly remember of that morning was his grandfather guiding him on how to play a song on the Harmonica he got him for his birthday. The same Harmonica the ODST has had with him ever since.
But so much has happened to Lucas since that time, so so many things that had made this memory nearly forgotten completely. The only real thing keeping it from vanishing all together is if it were a dream he has awoken from was the very Harmonica he had kept with him since that time. It was the only direct connection to his grandfather and his memory of him, and his own childhood he had left. The marine gently touched the armored pouch on his utility belt where he kept the instrument and it’s case as he thought back to those happier carefree days of his life. A small tear ran down his face behind his Helmet visor as he struggled to remember those happier times on his homeworld of Arcadia. Before his Grandfather’s death in a insurrectionist bombing, before the war with the Covenant, and all the suffering that followed it.
