Poe ends up a very important ally to the bounty hunters... 

He helps Cal start bounty hunting after the fall of the First Order, acting as a mentor of sorts for the lost Jedi, and later after Hux is found alive helps again get both of them into the job. Feeding them contacts that the Black Squadron collects- odd jobs that are out of the struggling rebellions code of ethics. As the years go on he finds himself less a moon orbiting the bounty hunters and more one of them.
