Let's not forget that General Hux has an intelligence level of 9.5/10, from the Topps cards and the Head-To-Head books. This means that he has an above-than-average IQ level, like, mentally gifted. This makes so much sense given that he's a General at such a young age and also how he's managed to escape the resistance and survive for so long, and also planned many assassinations including his own Father's.
