Maedhros' heartbeat thunders in his ears at the scream. "Tyelpë," he rasps. He tries to push himself up again. "Tyelpë, get back."

Celebrimbor appears out of the melee and falls to his knees beside his father's unconscious body, draping himself over him. "Don't you dare ," he hisses up at Sauron. "You can't have him!"

Sauron pauses. "How sweet," he murmurs, tilting his head to one side. Fresh blood spills out down his side at the movement. "I think I'll remember you."

Okay so in my defense your honor this draw has really been messing with me, like I had to start it from scratch twice. It just kept being mean.

As one would predictably do when an individual was speaking with only their lingering presence hovering around to hear it. Because it would be an oddity for someone to be talking to himself, as he appeared to be doing. That was a.... difficult scenario to recover from! Now he would have to play the part she assigned and.... and act like he had been talking to her.

Right?

Was that the right way of handling it?

He couldn’t very well say that he’d been talking to himself.

More accurately, talking to his ‘unseen’ companion, but that was an entirely different level of oddities he was not yet ready to embrace.

What wasn’t so odd a thing was for him to be misunderstood. Frequently. But it hadn’t made reversing the situation any easier for him. He was so awkward... so unfamiliar...

And as smart as he was, he wasn’t always quick on his feet!

Gather his wits, push forth his courage! He could do this. He had to do it. It had been his decision to wander as he was. The first decision he had made for himself in what seemed to be... forever. So... now that he wielded that decision and carried it through, he had to face what consequences came as a result of it.
