Same same but different..

So a while ago I posted on here because two boys (grown ass men) kissed on a tv show and I went yay!!! So here’s my lil breakdown:

9-1-1 and Teen Wolf started the same for me. It was airing on tv, I had not seen a single episode, but damn did I see every gifset, fanart, and theories of two characters being together.

I started my teen wolf watch towards the tail end of season 1 and let me tell you, it was the very first time where yes, taken out of context Sterek wanted to bang but then watching it IN context I was like “lmao nah shit is still pretty gay”. Being so far into the sterek fandom while season 2 aired and then 3A, and 3B it was something that I feel like really shaped how I see fandom vs canon and like in taking everything with it.

Enter 9-1-1. It aired 7 whole seasons, 6 which featured Buck and Eddie and again I saw every fanart, gifset, theory, fanfic, edit - and shit was compelling. But with sterek in mind I was like I’m not falling for it until one of them actually kisses a man or comes out as queer. Y’all(network tv) fooled me once I’m not doing it again. So when Buck and Tommy kissed I was like HOL UP!! Did my eyes catch that fr fr??? I went IN! Because now there was a lil bit of hope so now I wanted to see the history… I get to the popular Buck and Eddie scenes and I’m like… 😐 this not gay like how Sterek still was gay…

& maybe it’s because I’m older, & because I’ve experienced things but TO ME Buck and Eddie have always read as besties that have a close bond/co-dependency/village. Like it read to me the kind of friendship I - a queer woman would have with my friends - mostly straight women. Like me & my bestie, I call her my wife, we are very much platonic soulmates, we have never seen each other romantically & I know if she ever had kids I’d be there for her and those kids in a heartbeat. TO ME Buck and Eddie were that and the more I watched the show and saw the Buddie discourse the more I was like Buck, get a boyfriend that’s anyone BUT Eddie PLEASE!

Why am I saying any of this? Girl idk, part of it is the current BuckTommy vs Buddie discourse - even tho in the current episode Buck himself said that he has never had feelings for his STRAIGHT friend. & I guess part of it is kinda like missing the part where I was in the delusion? Idk lmao ignore this.
