It's not Trendy hating White Characters

I've been seeing some hate towards Jack Morrison aka Soilder 76 simply because he's white. Before anyone attacks me on here, I'm a black woman. I've seen some posts of people who hate on him mainly because they wanted Gabriel Reyes aka Reaper as Strike Commander. Now I'm a huge advocate of Jack being the one to fall from grace instead of Gabriel. But I don't like how people completely butcher Jack's character so they show that Gabriel is better than him. Even in Reaper76 fanfics the always portray Jack as a clueless incompetent commander. That's unfair listen I'm also a Reaper fan but he's far from perfect. Example he completely tugged at Jack's heartstrings to go after Antonio in Retribution. Plus he didn't think far ahead that his consequences put his whole team in danger and he wasn't even sorry about it. Jack has his flaws so does Gabriel. Don't completely rewrite a character just to make your fav character look good. Part of loving a character is also acknowledging their flaws. I still want a role reversal event between Jack and Gabriel hint hint Jeff Kaplan.

With all the R76 that casts Gabe as the "bigger one" with the "velvety voice" despite canon evidence to the contrary I want to see more fics where Gabe is the slenderer one (but still ostensibly taller iirc and stronger around the shoulders and arms) with his not that velvety and not that deep yet still appealing higher pitched voice in comparison to Jack's gruff deep manly one and Jack's stockier, "bigger" frame

Is Gabe taller? I know he's tall but idk in comparison to Jack. What I do know, however, is that Jack is bigger than him, at least in terms of body mass distribution

So please please more big, stocky Jack with his cleft chin and his deep voice and manly pretty boy blond-blue eyes combo

and slenderer but still intimidating Gabe with his shoulders and arms for days and thighs of a god and a voice that, while intimidating, is still no match for Jack's throat of gravel
