Was Grizabella, the Glamour Cat~

Took a bit of break but I am back with more aus cats! This time one character I was particularly excited to illustrate, Gabriyel Thomas’ Grizzabella! Her performance of this character is something that particular resonated with me when I first saw the production and I hope I did justice to your version of the character! I know cats Australia is now over however I was glad to do a tribute to this amazing actress rendition of this particular cat!

(Jemima is sad and confused! She got scolded! She never gets scolded, that's what Carbuckety and Bill Bailey are for!)

I love that Gabriyel's Grizabella's presence is so powerful and she's so fierce and frustrated and determined that not even Munk and Skimble can hold her eye for long. In fact, there's real fear in the way they look at her. If she takes one angry step toward them they crack and run away. But Victoria and Grizabella - and even Carbuckety, I suppose - have no trouble looking right at her, because they don't really believe there's anything to be frightened of.

(And there's one other cat of whom that's true too...)
