What things do they find “hot” about their partner after they’ve been together for some time, and have had more time to, well, notice and appreciate? Guyhawk and Iota
Iota is a simple mech in that he saw Guyhawk and went "Oh he's sexy. I want to get to know him." It was something about the way Guyhawk held himself (and Hellbat's jaw), that bad boy attitude and look, the shape of his face, etc. What he finds "hot" is not just his appearance, but his behaviors. The way Guyhawk can oh so casually scoop him up, how he manages to act like everything is okay, even when his meal is on the ceiling. And his smile, that sends an arrow right through Iota's gay little heart. Things he's come to notice and appreciate are so subtle that only Iota has really noticed them. For instance, Guyhawk cares. About Iota, about his team, about Haka. He's quite responsible with his Brestar, and regularly takes her out for some falconry.
Guyhawk is also simple, but in a different way. Iota was immediately enraptured by him, so Guyhawk took the opportunity. It started as just simple frag-buddies, but then Iota started hanging around more and showed genuine interest in Guyhawk, unlike anyone he's ever met before. He fell in love because Iota could be trusted and because Iota cared, so much more than he did. Iota's kind heart was the perfect balance for him. He realized he was in love when Iota saved his life at a point, your classic angelic savior cliche. Guyhawk has come to love Iota's stupid puns, his infodumping, his quirks. Iota may be a weirdo, but at least he was Guyhawk's weirdo.
