Ryuu and gaku's first meeting makes me feel so much 🤧
Gaku who knows there's thousands of photographs of him, professionally lit and shot with camera lenses worth sums that equal a hefty paycheck. The pictures are crisper than life, every curl of hair captured in high definition while the reflection in his eyes has a better resolution than most TVs. He's seen himself taller than a building, and plastered on planes, face visible from 10 kilometers away. He knows what a good picture of himself looks like.
And he prefers the ones Ryuu takes.
Only numbering in the hundreds, but Ryuu's phone has plenty of them, and each one worse than the last. Too close, Gaku's nose taking up most of the frame, too far, a small blob in the middle distance that can barely be distinguished as a person. Too bright, overexposed by the combination of Gaku's pale skin and bright full sunlight, too dim, a shadowy figure blocking out a lone lamp in a bar.
And blurry, picture upon picture of blurs. Sometimes it's Gaku's doing, the background reasonably clear but his body in candid motion, but mostly it's Ryuu, a moment captured in colorful smears, impressions of Gaku recognizable in a cloud of silver, saved no matter the quality and always attempted again. And Gaku prefers every unrecognizable photo of himself, because none of the perfection his father worked so hard to cultivate is visible. He'll take a picture if Ryuu insists, so they have a decent record of the moment, but he sets Ryuu's mess of a photo as his lockscreen. Because no amount of photo retouching could fix it and he knows what it's meant to be of. Something Ryuu values.

-> your present for the @i7-valentines-exchange!!
i stretched myself a little by doing a comic rather than writing! i don't usually post my art bc i know i make a lot of mistakes still but i felt like it suited this moment and i really hope you like it! 🙇
i've spent a long time playing around with a trigger mafia au, i think i even mentioned it to you once. i've done a lot of different stuff in this same space, along with friends like @lacieapologist; there are sfw and nsfw versions, dark versions and ... darker versions (i don't really do light for this one lol but there's variety), ryuu focus, tenn focus, gaku focus, etc, so i left this one small and close in to let you have your own thoughts about it! but the basic idea is that instead of regular debt ryuu's dad got mixed in with a bunch of loan sharks, and instead of a company yaopapa runs an organized crime group; so he forced ryuu to work for them as an enforcer or else his family would basically lose everything. cost of room, food, and board is applying to that, so eventually, gaku is like fuck this and invites ryuu to live with him :3
They had a temporary tattoo stall at my work party today and I
Ryuu whose first kiss is on camera for a drama he's filming. When Gaku finds out (after the fact, tragically after the fact), he kisses Ryuu himself so that his second kiss can be everything a first kiss is supposed to be: sweet and loving and tender and intimate. Private.
Gaku whose first kiss was also with some random girl he didn't care about, because Sosuke thought it was important for him to know how to kiss.
So when Gaku's talking with Ryuu before their kiss, and he asks Ryuu, "Did you like the girl though? If you didn't like her, then it doesn't count." Ryuu responds with, "Did you?"
And they realize that in a way, it's kind of a first kiss for them both. The first time it's with someone they really, truly care about
i will never finish this uwu but thank you kali uchis for inspiring this pic
