Submitter’s notes: Mary Winchester is brought back to life, the same age as her sons. She forms an AMAZING friendship with Cas, tries to figure out how to have an adult relationship with boys who might not have even been in school when she died, and also has to deal with why she was resurrected. Authour is the best at platonic relationships, and also writes fascinating OCs!

Summary:

Tim can see so clearly how this is going to go. Batman will never kill the Joker. Jason will take that as proof that Bruce doesn't care about him, has never cared about him. Bruce will try and try to prove him wrong, twisting himself up tighter and tighter and doing worse and worse every time. Jason will see confirmation of Bruce's disinterest in every twitch, and Bruce will see the evidence of his own failure in every rebuff. Sometimes Tim is so, so tired.

The pain of being helpful. Of learning early not to focus on yourself. Of being valued BECAUSE you're so so necessary. Of not even quite knowing how to want more, even though you desperately want more. Also, you just killed someone. But it's pretty obvious that this isn't what's important.

Mary Winchester deserved better. This fic does its best to flesh out her character and explore “what if,” and boy does it deliver! There’s touching and frankly adorable bonding with Cas (who comes across as an actual otherworldly being and not merely naive and clueless); cameos from other female characters that don’t die; the chance to see what her boys got from their mother; and of course, well-deserved John Winchester hate.

Magical accidents happen. Loki's a kid, Bruce is Natasha and Natasha goes out of her way not to be the Hulk, Thor's unconscious, Tony's female-bodied, and Clint is normal (relatively speaking). It's all fun and games until you start to love the kid version of one of your enemies.

I had a lot of trouble keeping myself from reading this one all at once (to the detriment of the stuff I'm supposed to do). Which is a roundabout way of saying that i liked it a lot!
