HE’S NOT TALKING ABOUT HIS EX. HE’S TALKING ABOUT THE GODDESS OF OH YOU KNOW: MAGIC? THE THING THAT’S BEEN HIS ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE SINCE HE CAN REMEMBER???

Like I don’t see people get nearly as miffed when Shadowheart goes on and on with the Sharran drivel or when Lae’zel praises Vlaakith for taking a shit. GODS FORBID Gale talks about the goddess who fucked over his life. All three of them were abused by their goddess/god-like ruler, but because Shadowheart and Lae’zel didn’t “date” their abusers it’s “different”.

Like I get this entire post is an overreaction on my part, but you don’t have to even like Gale to understand he’s not “just talking about his ex”. He’s literally talking about the goddess who presides over the thing he’s obsessed with—the thing that his mastery and talent in has defined his entire existence since he can remember.

He’s not obsessed with Mystra, he’s obsessed with magic. He’s not yapping on about Mystra, he’s yapping on about magic. It seems like he’s talking about Mystra because he literally believes Mystra to be magic itself (part of the grooming) SO OF COURSE HE’S GOING TO TALK ABOUT MYSTRA.

I’m gonna delete this later tho, I just get salty about this topic. 😭😂

Can I request Seamstress part 3 where Gale and Tav has a romantic date as he promised please?

Seamstress pt3:

A slow burn leading to the date

It had been a stressful endeavour but an enjoyable night that you spent with Gale. You could not help but replay it over and over again in your mind, laughing at the stories and pictures his mother entertained you with. As the night ended Gale spoke of how much he enjoyed it, though lamented over how he wished it could have just been the two of you, to enjoy each others company alone.

It wasn’t long after Morena left that you also readied yourself to go home, the sun was drawing in and you did not fancy walking home in the dark, no matter how safe Waterdeep was you still did not want to make the dark walk home. Gale understood with grace and bowed before you as you left his tower, kissing your hand and making you promise to see him on the morrow in the gardens of Waterdeep for a walk. You agreed and accepted his suggestion for the walk, Waterdeep was a beautiful city and you reveled in the chance to be shown its highlights by a native.

The walk home gave you time to think over the past night, to think over Gale’s true intentions with you and consider your opinions of his mother. Morena was a lovely woman, she adored Gale and was kind to you, a fact you began to consider on your walk.Morena seemed to think Gale thought more of you than you imagined, that he almost worshiped the ground you walked on by the way she was speaking. You truly enjoyed Gale’s company and it made you smile to yourself that his mother approved of you, yet you could not help but feel unworthy of him, that somewhere in your soul Gale could do better than a lowly seamstress as yourself.

The entire walk home you tried to push that thought from your mind, focusing only on the date that lay ahead in the morning, to think of better things ahead for yourself and what may come of them. As you reached home you ignored the untidy mess you had always left after a long day, it could all wait until tomorrow after you had met with Gale, walking your way up to bed and flopping into it, trying to dream about what tomorrow would bring.

The sun began to set over the shoreline of Waterdeep, a sight you never grew tired of, watching the sun glisten on the sapphire coloured waves was almost hypnotic, a far different sight from your home city. It reminded you each night of why you moved to this city. It was hard to rise from the comfort of your bed, the soft duck feathers of the quilt were like a siren call to you, almost begging you to stay beneath its comforting embrace. It was hard but you did not want to leave its soft feather embrace, it was a hard call to ignore but your mind could not be swayed, you had other things to think about.

Rising early above your small shop you smiled, though your apartment was small and would never hold a candle to Gales tower it was more than enough, it was yours and that is what mattered.

After waking and making breakfast the rest of the morning was yours to do with as you wish. To dress in your finest if so inclined or to be casual for Gale. The thought of what you may wear for him had made you nervous, normally you would not care but the wizard of Waterdeep deserved some manners of respect regarding your outfit.

In-between trying on your occasion dresses you heard a knock on the door, you could have almost groaned at the intrusive noise. Being zipped up in a milk dress you bought as an impulse did not help your mood, you knew that you would have to answer the door this way.

Swallowing your pride you walked down the stairs and called out that you would answer them presently, you did not want to hear any more rapping knuckles at the door to your small house. A large sigh left your lips and hoped that it was some snake oil merchant that you could easily send away without consequence.

As you opened the wooden door to your upper apartment you began your rehearsed speech. “No thank you I'm no….”

As you spoke you looked up and saw Gale stood before you, flowers in hand his cheeks were red and his did not know where to focus his eyes, not out of displeasure but he did not want to cause you embarrassment or make you feel like an object to be ogled.

It was a surprise to yourself to see his reaction, one that made you blush slightly yourself. Though you hesitated on the milk dress you decided that from Gales knee jerk reaction to wear it for the night, clearly he enjoyed the way you looked in it and you decided to indulge his wants for tonight, after all he offered to take you on a date, the least you thought you could do was look nice for him.

Gales words were intelligible stammers at first, thrusting forth the flowers nervously that he held in his hand for you, his eyes trying to avoid your own as he knew that his cheeks were threatening to flush bright red.

The flowers Gale gave you were perfect, wild freesias and lily flowers. A bunch that would seem unconventional to most people, lilies being the flower of death, yet this bouquet made you cry tears of joy.

This entire exchange made you chuckle, thinking about how sweet Gale truly was. Taking the flowers from his hands your fingers brushed against his own, the slight coughs of awkwardness came from both sides but neither of you addressed them.

The flowers you held in your arms were exquisite, reminding you of your grandmother, one whom died years ago but the memories were still fresh for you, her favourite flowers were freesias and she would often send you out to find some for her.

Gale could not have known this information and so it seemed all the more meaningful that he picked these at random for you. Smelling the flowers you knew the were fresh and began to arrange them in the vase upon your own table.

As you placed the bouquet on your table Gale noticed you wiping a line tear from your face, he would not pry for the reason but he could see it was a tear of happiness, one he was glad to have had a hand in.

The night was starting to grow late and you both had a reservation to attend, nothing special but one you were both looking forward to. After a few minutes you arrived with a simple shawl to cover your shoulders, if you were to wear the dress Gale gave such a reaction to then you needed a cover up in public.

Tonight you hoped would be a good night for you, wishing for happiness as you walked the cobblestones of the street, arm in arm towards the restaurant Gale had booked for you both.

Lae’Zel: We must find my people as soon as possible, for only they know the proper cleansing rituals to remove the parasite.

Wyll: Yeah, but why trek who knows how far when there are skilled healers right here?

Astarion: You’ve both got it wrong. We need to find someone who knows how to control this thing--and that means talking to as many people as possible, not just healers.

Shadowheart: No, you’re all wrong. We need to keep it a secret--how many times has someone tried to kill us after we told them we’re infected?

Gale: You know, I bet we can outsmart Raphael. We should--

All four, simultaneously: NO!

Gale: Look, I’m just saying, some of us would face rather grave consequences for dying. Or, in Astarion’s case, getting the tadpole out. Shouldn’t we do whatever it takes to avoid those consequences?

Astarion, thoughtfully: Actually, that’s not a bad point--

The other three, wheeling on him: NO!

Wyll: We’re getting nowhere. Again. What do you think, o fearless leader?

Me, rubbing Scratch’s belly: Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy??? It’s you! Oh yes it’s you! Oh, look at that tail go! You’re the goodest boy of all!

Lae’Zel: Unbelievable. Our lives are at stake and she’s not even paying attention--

Shadowheart, Wyll, Gale: No no, she’s got a point.
