Karlach's cheers of glee are infectious, and Gale quickly finds himself grinning alongside her. Her summoned mage hand hovers gently before them, its fingers twitching restlessly. The evening sun is now dim enough for the hand to give off a subtle glow.

"Perfect!" Gale cheers. "That's how you cast mage hand! How does it feel?"

Karlach's reply doesn't come for a moment. Then she says, "You tell me."

"What--" Gale's question is cut off by Karlach's mage hand touching his face. There's not a lot of weight behind it - it's an ethereal object, after all - but it elicits enough of a tactile response to know exactly where it is, and what it's touching. The slight, unmistakable tingle of magic makes Gale's face itch after a few seconds. And he must be imagining it, but it feels a bit warmer than a mage hand usually should.

"It…feels like a mage hand," Gale chuckles, gently brushing the hand away to scratch his cheek.

Karlach pouts slightly. "I wish I could feel what the hand feels."

Gale hums in agreement. "It would be nice, yes. A cantrip can only do so much, I'm afraid."

"…Can your mage hand touch me?" she asks.

Gale furrows his brows inquisitively. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. He conjures his own mage hand once again, a mere few feet away from Karlach. In all honesty, part of him expects it to disappear when it gets too close to his fiery companion. But a few feet becomes a few inches, then a few millimeters, and then it's gently cradling Karlach's cheek.

For a moment, Gale panics, about to apologise in case the gesture is too intimate, only for Karlach to lift up her flesh-and-blood hand to hold it there. Her eyes are wide in disbelief; an expression Gale no doubt matches.

Neither of them say anything. Then Karlach's eyes, glassy with an intense mix of emotions, meet Gale's.

"It tingles," she says at last, with a shaky smile. The flames protruding from her shoulders flare up in intensity, and out of the corner of his eye, Gale sees the base of her tail quirk upwards; an extremely telltale sign of arousal in tieflings.

The look on his face must be giving him away; his face feels warm, despite staying a very safe distance away from Karlach. Her gaze is a bit hungry, now, her smile a bit more sure of itself.

"Have you ever used mage hand…anywhere else?"

By all the gods above and below, this is not how Gale thought his night would go. But he'd be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying himself.

One thing led to another, and now Karlach is sitting on a rock near the riverbed, clothes hastily discarded in the grass somewhere. Gale's mage hand has two fingers buried inside her, skillfully thrusting with all the focus Gale can muster. Karlach rubs her clit with one hand and holds herself up with the other, while a mage hand of her own pinches and rubs one of her nipples.

She moans completely unabashedly, like she doesn't even care if their companions hear her. She sounds…wonderful. Gale could almost use the word heavenly, but that poses the risk of his mind taking an inconvenient detour.

It's as if she doesn't even breathe for a moment, only to unravel with a gutteral moan, squirting hard into the sandy dirt below. Her pussy clenches so tightly, it takes all of Gale's concentration to keep his mage hand from dissipating under the pressure.

oh, the touch-starved bomb squad? now I think this only barely makes sense - they both have similar outlooks on love but I think a lot of their other personality traits clash beyond an opposites attract type thing. gale doesn’t need a genius partner but karlach gives illiterate energy. and karlach would be bummed when she wants to go dancing and he’s just tired af. but you go girl fuck that wizard

Yknow. I was thinking about Galelach, and Gale wanting to become god. Thinking soooo intently about Gale wanting to become god not only to prove he is better than Mystra, but to also try and fix Karlach's heart. Maybe even use his godhood to straight up replace her heart with magic. Karlach would for sure steer him away from that even if she wants to live. Power corrupts, and she doesn't know who he'd become if given godhood.

Thinking now of Karlach burning on the docks of Baldurs Gate, collapsed in on herself, Gale crouching as close as he can without boiling alive. Him very quietly asking "Are you sure? I could save you, fix it anew." And Karlach, wincing in pain, shakes her head. Gale nods before casting an ice spell that coats his hand in frost, gently grabbing her hand. They make eye contact as the heat quickly melts through the ice. Then, they plunge into the hells, hand in hand.

I wish more people were into Galelach. And if not that at least saw the potential of them being friends bc they make me crazyyyy

They literally have bombs in their chests that will go off at any point, given to them by women in a much higher standing of power over them, that has lead them to a life of solitude with only a pet for a companion. And even Karlachs 'pet' is stretching it. That bitch is a rock named craig

I feel like they can bond over having to just wait to die because its not in their hands as to whether or not it happens. Gale is clearly smart enough that given the time and resources he could find a way to fix Karlach's engine (which if u r a karlach origin and romance Gale, at the epilogue party he says he's looking into it with Tara). And Karlach could help Gale see he doesn't need to beg for forgiveness to be saved, because its not like he was selfishly trying to get the netherese magic. He was desperate to be seen as worthy and an equal to Mystra. LIKE CMOOON

Also they r just hilarious as a duo in general. Woman who hasn't read a book in 10+ years and a man who cant even run half a mile without complaining about his back and joints hurting

I need gale and karlach go kiss sooooooooo bad oh my goddddd. To hold each other so gentle and cradle each others faces and Gale cuts his tongue on Karlach's fangs and they laugh about it. the two of them cooped up in Gale's tent passionately kissing and proximity is making Gale sweat and hes gripping her muscles and she's pressing him as close as she can because even if they were merging into one entity it wouldn't be close enough. Gale talking Karlach's ear off about a book he's found and she snags a kiss in the middle of his ramble and he just stops for a second to process it with big eyes. Karlach fresh out of morning warmups and Gale staring at her intently as she towels off her sweat, and Karlach noticing so she hooks the towel round his neck to pull him close for a kiss.

My ideal Galelach ending is them spending roughly a year in Avernus before Gale n Tara find a way to fix Karlach's engine so they can be in the overworld.

There is a party to celebrate because Obviously. Karlach is still an adventuring soul who probably won't want to settle down anytime soon, and Gale would not want to be without her, so they begin to travel Faerun together and occasionally helping out their friends if they need it. Save Shadowheart from a nasty run in with some Sharrans, help Astarion on an assassination mission, kill some folks with Lae'zel, etc. The visit back into Waterdeep for Holidays and birthdays bc Gale's mom loves having them around (although they always make a stop at Baldurs Gate so Karlach can talk to her parents tombstones). I don't think they get married on the road but they act like they are anyways.

Eventually either they get old enough or one of them gets fucked up super bad and they properly settle down in Waterdeep. They both try to propose to each other at the same time and they both giggle over it. Wedding is small with only their former companions, Withers, Dammon, Gale's mom, and Tara. Gale becomes a professor and Karlach picks up landscaping and they live all cosy n comfy in Gale's tower. They grow old together. They die of old age instead of to the bombs they held in their chests for so long.
