Compartment - Dramione drabble
“It’s really quite fascinating, Luna.” Hermione said, as she began staring out the window of the moving train. Hermione had been looking for Harry for the past hour of the train ride, he’d disappeared after he assured Ron and her that he needed some “air”. Hermione knew Harry too well to know that he wouldn’t leave the Draco topic alone. She wanted Harry to focus on his studies this year, as he had been too corrupted with other issues going on lately. Especially with the passing of Sirius.
Ron left shortly after to go and hang out with Dean and Seamus in their compartment, leaving Hermione to wander around. Luna and her haven’t been very friendly toward one another, they don’t particularly talk, but that doesn’t mean they don’t like one another. It’s just, they’ve never truly gotten to know each other. Hermione excused herself and decided to go check the back compartments, where the Slytherin’s hang out. She knew it was worth a shot, to get Harry out of doing something terribly bad, and getting them all detention on their first week of school. How horrid! Walking through the aisles, she began to relive some of her memories from the summer. Her Summer had been very, eventful, to say the least.
As Hermione opened the door to the large compartment, where all the Slytherin’s hung out, she noticed a few familiar faces. Hannah Abbott was sitting next to Theo Nott, as well as Pansy Parkinson. She looked around to see a shot of brown hair, but she couldn’t find it anywhere.
“Lost our way, Granger?” A deep, husky voice called. Her eyes shot up to the pair of grey-orb-like eyes staring back at her.
“I was looking for someone.” She replied. No one had seemed to notice their exchange, which was for the better, anyway. Draco was sitting by himself. Something the alpha of a pack would never do. She pursed her lips slightly and smirked. “Travelling alone, are we?”
He grunted and rolled his eyes. “I like the comfort of my own presence. It relaxes me.” He smirked. “Care to join? Not that you would, anyway.” His eyes followed to the rack above him with a smirk. Quite peculiar, really. However, she didn’t think much of it, as she found herself strolling down the aisle to sit across from him. Taking him by surprise. She was never one to back down from a challenge.
“I beg to differ.” She replied, crossing her arms - leaning Into the booth. Draco’s smirk grew.
“I’ve never pictured you as a beggar, Granger. But it seems there’s always a dark side to the good one’s.” Leaning forward. His hands were joined in the most professional, as well as intimidating, manner. Draco took notice of the redness in her cheeks when he had said that. Smirking widely, he chuckled softly.
“And, why, may I ask, would Draco Malfoy be picturing me? But it seems the one’s that treat you the worst, always have a soft spot for you.” His smirked faded. “So, do tell, Draco. Why would you be picturing me?”
“It’s okay, Draco. I won’t tell anyone.” As the train stopped, indicating that they’ve arrived. Hermione smirked, getting up to leave. She felt a hand grab her wrist, turning, she saw Draco, in his extremely expensive looking, black suit - holding on to her. She looked around, seeing as though everyone had left. Turning back, she smirked up at him, wriggling her hand from his grip.
“You’re quite the actress, Miss Granger.” Draco smirked at her, placing his arms around her waist.
“Who said I was acting?” She smirked. Scoffing, he leaned in - pressing his warm lips to hers, as though his life depended on it. Wrapping her arms around the nape of his neck, she smiled into the kiss - kissing as if it would be the last thing she did.
It had been a very odd Summer for Draco and Hermione. Especially after their accidental meeting at Diagon Alley. But, that’s another story.
Hermione pulled away gently, still holding him close to her. She looked into his eyes, smiling. She pressed another kiss onto his lips. “We should go.”
Draco kissed her once more, before removing his hands from her and grabbing his bag from the booth. He looked up at the rack once more and smirked. Draco entwined their fingers as they left the compartment.
With another heavy breath, the boy removed himself from the rack. Climbing down, setting his feet onto the ground. Taking off his invisibility cloak, his eyes were wide in shock - his breathing growing rapidly. “What on Merlin!” Harry gasped.
