Cosmere Characters Turned Into a Random Animal

Just straight-up stolen from this post. In order to keep the randomness pure, I've also used a random picker for the Cosmere characters!

1. Ulaam has been turned into...an eoraptor!

Ulaam: Hmm. Arms a little short. Ulaam: No worries! I'll just add a couple of new, longer arms! Ulaam: [Straining to reach his workbench with his tiny dino arms] Ulaam: ... Ulaam: Uh oh.

2. Szeth has been turned into...a beaver!

Szeth: At last. Szeth: I am someone who creates, someone who builds. Szeth: I shall be the happiest, fattest beaver of all.

3. Ann has been turned into...a capuchin monkey!

Ann: [hanging upside down off of the ship's rigging] Ann: Honestly, I'm pretty happy.

4. Galladon has been turned into...a groundhog!

Galladon: I will sleep beneath the earth, unbothered. Galladon: Until I come to the surface and proclaim more winter for all. Galladon: ... Galladon: I'm kind of feeling it.

5. Lirin has been turned into...a llama!

Lirin: ... Lirin: Well...at least I'm good for...shearing? Lirin: Perhaps my woolly coat can be used to keep others warm! Hesina: It says here llamas also sometimes bite or spit at people. Lirin: I would never!

6. Akane has been turned into...a dilophosaurus!

Akane: [is a dinosaur, but one wearing a fashionable pink and white sweater] Yumi: I-It looks good on you? Akane: I hate my life.

7. Yumi has been turned into...a gecko!

Yumi: [Is hanging from the ceiling in Nikaro's room] Yumi: Honestly...I've never been so relaxed in my life.

8. Parlin has been turned into...a lobster!

Parlin: Not going to lie. Parlin: I was hoping for some kind of forest creature. Parlin: Well, at least I'm functionally immortal this time.

9. Adolin has been turned into...a vole!

Adolin: What. Adolin: H-How am I supposed to duel like this?!

10. Radiant has been turned into...a baryonyx!

Radiant: Do not worry, Shallan. Radiant: My one enormous claw will function as my sword. Radiant: I can still be what I was to you. Shallan: So I do I just turn into a dinosaur sometimes or...?

11. Elegy has turned into...an oppossum!

Elegy: ... Elegy: Despite the glowing ember hole in my chest that I still have for some reason, I feel as though I've lost some of my...gravitas.

12. Dalinar has turned into...a rabbit!

Odium: ...Now I don't even WANT to fight you. Dalinar: Another flawless victory for Dalinar!

I need more of Demoux, Galladon and Baon's adventures on Roshar. These idiots followed a false trail for years on the wrong side of the planet, accidentally spread a plague and spend their time bickering like high schoolers.

Like, we have Demoux scaring people, wanting to study spren and being creepy about it, Baon offended to be told he looks like Nale while Galladon is trying desperately to be the one braincell, this is hilarious. How did they even end up together

Elantris thoughts

I finally finished reading elantris

(I finally finished a book?!)

(AAAAAA!)

These are the things that I loved about it!

Pacing! It was quick, with the right amount of descriptions

Everything is explained in a logical way. For example the reason behind the dirt that is all over elantris, why the Aons do not work etc..

Seons. I don't know, I liked them. They are a fun concept to implement in a fantasy book.

Some characters like: Raoden, Hrathen and Roial

What I did not particularly like:

I think that it is a common thought that Sarene was too much a "not like other girls" girl. While all the other women were treated like powerless or incompetent just because they did more feminine activities

We were ROBBED of some scenes between Raoden and his old friends, like Lukel and Shunden.

I would have loved to have more lore on the other cultures like jindo and duladel

i would also have loved to have a more in depth description of the secondary characters, but I do realize that the book is already long.

Aiden?? I was very intrigued by his character and I think that the truth was a bit lost in the whole scene.

The end. Just wanted to tell somebody.

Final thoughts: I really liked it, I will proceed with other Sanderson books!!

Started Elantris last week and I'm enjoying it so far.

I love Raoden thinking he's clever by calling himself the translation of the first part of his name only for Galladon to figure out who he is after a day of using the name. Because Raoden is not subtle.

I appreciate that Sarene's artistic prowess is on par with my own. Her ability to play down her intelligence to fuck with people is amazing.

I'm also loving the magic system so far and the intrigue about what happened to Elantris. The Aons are fascinating and I like that they all use the same base element in their designs.

I'm excited to see what happens next.

Elantris by Brandon Sanderson

I just finished the audiobook about an hour, hour and a half ago, and I am exhausted lol. That last 2 hours of the book had me so stressed with everyone dying and no obvious fix in site and and and!!! I was half convinced we weren't going to get a happy ending. I love Raoden, and Galladon and Sarene - definitely a fantastic book. Having already read Emperor's Soul, it's interesting to see the tie backs to Elantris's magic system. I'm queing up Hope for Elantris to listen to tomorrow, when I'm done mulling over Elantris (for the moment at least).
