When the new year approaches, I always look at what I need to let go of. We pick up so many bad habits during 365 days, and it's good to get a reset. I need to let go of foundations that were built when I needed to survive, not thrive. I've been trying to hold on to everything and sometimes, it's good to let go. I don't need all that excess mental, emotional and spiritual weight. I need to stop judging myself so harshly, the mask I keep trying to build isn't real and will hide my beauty that shines from within; besides, people already love me for who I am. I get frustrated with setbacks. I'm doing well with my healing, but it's been a rough go of it for the past couple of days. Instead of getting frustrated with myself and my body, I need to look at preceived setbacks as steps forward. I am listening to my body now more than ever, giving myself the rest my body needs and I'm actually paying attention to the music my body makes.
