Volta a Ilha 2023
I have a watch again!! Fully addicted to the data, I won’t lie.
On Thursday I ran 5 tempo miles and went bouldering and went to a dance-cardio-strength type workout with some friends, so I am quite sore at the moment. But today’s run was nice and slow and I feel much better than I did before it.
I’ve got 18 km on deck for tomorrow and honestly, I’m a little apprehensive, but I think my fitness has improved substantially over the past two weeks (despite what Strava says... 🙄) so I’m hoping it’ll go well!
3.8.20
14 miles in the bag! Honestly didn’t think I was going to do this haha. My legs are rubber now and I’m pretty sure I need to do important things like ice my joints, take a bath, foam roll and eat all the food but I literally can’t get up from the floor. Runners high kicked in at mile 6, at mile 9 my foot hurt and from mile 11-12 I was fighting a gnarly side ache after chugging gatorade. I practiced regulating my breathing, relaxing, calming down and just kept moving because that’s the only way I know how to handle those. I took the whole thing nice and slow and tried to pace myself to cover the distance. I might’ve felt slower than molasses in January but thank GOD it’s not January. Today’s weather was perfecto 👌

You bet I'm gonna eat the whole thing 😍
I present, my best run yet this year! By paying special attention to where my heart rate is, I'm learning so much about pacing and endurance. I'm still not at the level I was at the end of last year, but I'm feeling hopeful that I'll get back to it soon. Let's get shit done.
Oh my goshh @sweeterthanabumblebee 😻 Thank you for the oatmeal recipe!! I feel like I’m eating Autumn for dinner - I even included cocowhip for authenticity haha I doubled the recipe to have some for tomorrow so the baking took about 45 mins. Decided to get some yoga and abs in while waiting!
Last miles of 2017.
