Imagine this Jasper x Spinel. 2 perfect gem specimens scarred by Pink Diamond's actions, through their trauma grow closer together, become friends, and eventually that friendship evolves into romance.
omg, that sounds like such a cute ship! I can imagine something like that happening. You’d think Jasper would be annoyed by Spinel’s presence but she secretly enjoys it.
I wonder how many future generations of the ones who saved the world will be friends. How long till those family bloodlines no longer contact each other. Sure the artificial black mages have short lifespans since they were originally made as weapons of war. Vivi being the prototype, has a slightly longer lifespan and greater potential.
That… is a very interesting question, and I admit, I had to think about the answer for a couple of times. And, ultimately, my answer will not be coming from Sceada (should that have been the intent), but from the mun instead, and be mostly based on what I think happens after the games. Maybe with some influence from headcanons others on here have had.
Since there are people who haven’t played IX yet and might not want to be spoiled, I’m gonna put it under a Read More. I’ll also tag some fellow IX roleplayers to see what their take on this is at the end.
So, here we go:
It is easy to see, that Zidane and Garnet will remain a couple and produce offspring eventually, so I want to take the children of these two as the main focus for this, and I’ll call them the Alexandrian royal line.
So, who will the children of the Alexandrian royal line be friends with? Let’s go through the other hero’s children for that:
Steiner (and Beatrix)
This one is probably the easiest. Seeing how it seems likely that indeed, Steiner and Beatrix will start a family together, it also stands to reason that they would raise their children to follow in their footsteps. And we all know just what kind of footsteps those are, right?
The family started by the Pluto Knight and the Rose of May will likely become famous as the family that most closely protects the Alexandrian royal line, and I can see them forming deep friendships due to that - especially if they happen to grow up together! Just imagine how strong a bond they’ll forge if the young prince and princess are in the same age range as the aspiring royal guards!
So yeah, I imagine this to be a friendship that will be passed down for many a generation, to put it this way!
Vivi
Look… I’ve always been a fan of Vivi. I’ve idolized him. Modeled my first roleplay character after him, essentially turning them into my idea of an adult Vivi. And he’s certainly also been an influence when it comes to Sceada here. And I definitely am someone who wished for Vivi to have a long and happy life.
But at the same time, I sadly have to admit that I do not think his legacy will endure many generations. Nor that it should be made to.
The young Vivi’s were a nice touch for the ending, and they were cute, no doubt. But they raise many questions. Where did they come from? Are they, like Vivi, dolls crafted from Mist? If so, how? Did they still have some Mist bottled up somewhere for this?
It seems a bit unlikely, but is what would make the most sense to me. And if we take this as the right answer, then well…
Then there is no question that Vivi’s family line so to speak will end before long.
Don’t get me wrong, up until them, I’m sure they’ll be cherished! But once that day comes, there’ll be no going back - and I think it’s likely that it comes before Zidane and Garnet have their first child…
Freya
The game leads us to believe that Freya and Fratley try to overcome his amnesia and end up back together again. And while that made for a sweet notion in the ending, I personally have mixed feelings about it.
See, I think that the whole journey without him, the whole experience with saving the world and traveling with Zidane?
It helped Freya mature beyond Fratley.
I don’t think their second attempt will work out, and instead, I put my money on Freya finding someone else to love and marry. And eventually, she will have a family of her own - and I feel that at least initially, they will be close with the Alexandrian royal line.
Now, that actual reminds me of something someone once mentioned… namely, who they thing Freya should end up with: Puck.
If Freya’s children become royalty thus, it’s no question they will try to maintain diplomatic relationships and a certain friendship with Alexandria’s royal line, and that could lead to many generations of friendly relations - at least until eventually, the fact that they belong to different kingdoms causes them to drift apart. After all, this happens often, and the allies of today might become tomorrow’s foe…
But that said, I do no think this is a pairing that should happen. Not just bccause of the age difference and Puck being a child still by the game’s end. I just don’t see them seeing eye to eye, you know? Freya will always put him on the pedestal of being Burmecia’s prince and later, king. She’ll see herself as his loyal servant, much like Beatrix and Steiner do towards Garnet. So yeah, I doubt this would ever happen.
Quina
Err… I’m really not sure here. Wouldn’t Quina go back to the Marsh eventually? I’m not sure how often they’d even meet… - or if Quina would produce offspring. Though, let us assume that Quina does indeed have children. In that case, I feel they would at least get to know the other children, including Garnet and Zidane’s, but they likely wouldn’t be a frequent sight. It probably wouldn’t last all that long, I feel, but hey, you never know, right?
Eiko
Seeing how she’s been adopted into Lindblum’s royal family, her children will be princes and princesses - and thus likely hold close connections with the Alexandrian royal line, if not friendships. How long those will last would remain to be seen - after all, if you live in separate kingdoms, you never know when tensions will arise between your homelands..
Besides that, however, I’m sure they’ll remain close friends for generations to come, and might eventually even marry into each other’s family at one point.
As for who Eiko will marry… puh…Look, I’m sure there are many of good choices around, though the majority of them won’t be named characters I guess. That doesn’t mean Eiko can’t find a wonderful man to complement her, and have the cutest children you can imagine. The only named characters that come to mind are all either taken (oh hi there Zidane), or in other ways indisposed (Vivi…).
The sole actual option I see is one I’ve seen briefly touched upon by a great roleplayer on here, and that would be Puck. The Prince of Burmecia and the Princess of Lindblum… - it could work. Then again, I don’t know if these two would go all that well together - or if their respective guardians would permit such an union…
Amarant
He is the lone wolf of the group, the guy that doesn’t get along with the others all that well, and that kinda sticks out thus. And he’s the one that at one point decides to go it alone, and leaves the group behind.
Honestly, all these things make me wonder if Amarant would even be the type to settle down and start a family. And if we assume he doesn’t, then well… this question quickly becomes moot. But if he does have kids? I still don’t think he’d be the type to socialize much with the others and their kids, and just do his own thing.
An exception to this would be if he and Freya end up together. Then he’ll definitely need to put up with his old comrades and their kids, because lord helps her, Freya is not going to let him isolate himself, and if need be, she’ll drag him by the ear to meet them!
And that’s all of them. Now, my fellow IX roleplayers, what do you think? I’m curious to hear your take on this all, and for that purpose, I shall tag some of you here:
Um Abigail. I told my Hydreigon of the tragedy. He went and avenged gabes parents of his own accord. He ate the one responsible. He destroyed their home. The only things left unscathed was the furniture that was once Gabes parents.
“W-what?….i-i oh god th-thats horrible….what should we do know?.Poor Gabe and Mr. Hydreigon……this world is so cruel”
