THE DARK CRYSTAL (1982)
600. Gerard Bourke Collection: Set of Four Hand-Drawn Annotated Mike Ploog Storyboards - Sold on Propstore.com
"Four storyboards hand-drawn and annotated by renowned sketch artist and production illustrator Michael G. "Mike" Ploog for the production of Jim Henson's and Frank Oz's The Dark Crystal. In the film, SkekTek, the Scientist (Steve Whitmire) repeatedly rebuffed SkekSil, the Skeksis Chamberlain (Oz), as he attempted to wheedle his way to the Skeksis throne.
These storyboards depicting SkekTek recoiling from SkekSil after the latter ambushes the former in the Castle of the Crystal originate from the collection of Gerard Bourke. They are rendered in black crayon on paper with black marker borders and colored pencil annotations such as "Suddenly a Skeksis leaps out from behind a column" [sic] and "Chamberlain pursues the Scientist." The boards exhibit marker bleed on their reverses, yellowing from age, creasing to their corners, and pinholes throughout. Dimensions: (each) 8.25" x 11.75" (21 cm x 30 cm)"

The scenes depicted in this storyboard never made the final cut, nor did the sets drawn. The skeksis designs also appear vastly different than how we see them in the final work.
Here's my 5th SkekTember drawing from 2023! (With further little details into my Fan-character's life, personality and alliances!)
SkekTember, day 5 : The one they fear.
If you'd ask the Illustrator, she would have told you that SkekUng, the Garthim-Master, was not someone you would want to get mad at you. And this would only be her discreet way of saying that she found him terrifying.
An enemy to her allies, the strongest of the court and with a very short temper, the loud and boisterous Garthim-Master never failed to make skekLa cower and quickly seek for a way to dodge any possible interaction with him.

Drawtumn 23.9 - "Scary"; Garthim
No joke, as a kid, when the Garthim first awaken, I would have to duck behind a chair every time. It was that shot of them scuttling down the hallway toward the camera - maybe I was really immersed with the movie, but I was scared to death they'd walk right out of the screen to get me. But much to my relief, another comes in from the side and leads them away.
I dunno, I always found THE DARK CRYSTAL fascinating BECAUSE it scared me so. And nowadays, it's one of my all-time favorite movies. (And lord knows the series desperately needed another season...)
So I was watching The Dark Crystal (1986) the other day and I noticed that the Garthim look like the Mirelurk Hunters from Fallout. Do you think the developers of Fallout took inspiration from the Garthim design? Tell you your thoughts.
I redesigned my au skekso again
He's bug like because he took too much darkening and it was gonna kill him so the scientist put modified garthim blood in him so he can sustain more darkening:)
God look at that devious grin you dont know how proud i am of that angle
